Question re. onboard deposit for future discounted cruise

When my daughter and I were on a cruise in April, we put the $250 deposit down towards the future cruise, for a total of 4 persons. If one of us does not get booked for the cruise, do we lose that discount because it's not for the original 4? Thought I saw something about this....

Just one of the original people on the placeholder reservation (adult) has to be on the new reservation.
