We will be staying at the Poly for our trip in mid December. I see that many people make ADR's for Kona.

Do i need to be making ADR's for Kona for breakfast, even when staying there?

Depends on what time you plan t0 eat breakfast. if you plan to be up and at the restaurant by 8:00-8:30, you should be ok. But the closer it gets to 9 am, the more people start showing up for breakfast.

I would make an ADR for any restaurant that allows it just to be on the safe side.

I agree. It would be disappointing to show up there, only to be told they're booked and nothing was available :rolleyes1. I would make the ressie to be safe ;).

You'll be able to get in if you get there early. We had zero wait at 7:30 a.m. one morning last July.

It's better to make the ADR and if you decide to go earlier...generally they can get you right in (if you have a ressie). It never hurts to have the ADR...

Yes you should always make ADRs for any place that you for sure want to eat at .... other wise you chance being left out in the cold

I agree with other posters ... if you want to eat at Kona make a reservation. You're guaranteed a table that way and you won't be upset on the off chance that you show up and are told that you'll have to wait an hour for a table.

I've seen it happen in October when guests weren't aware of Conventions on property or forgot about the golf tournament that WDW always hosts that time of year.

Better safe than sorry is our dining motto whenever we visit the Mousetrap. :thumbsup2

It doesn't cost anything to make an ADR, so why not? If you decide to go a different day and can get in then you cancel the reservation.

Whether you are staying at the Poly or not won't make any difference if there are no tables available.

We always try to eat at Kona Cafe for breakfast at least once each trip. We always make an ADR, sometimes we need it and sometimes we don't. I prefer to have the ADR there just in case.

We were at the Poly last year for Thanksgiving week and went to Kona 3 times for Breakfast. If you get there around 8:00am, being seated right away shouldn't be a problem. Any time after that I would make an ADR.

I have no idea if you really have to. I made one for breakfast there though because I know exactly which day I want to eat there and don't want to miss out on eating there. Now my problem is deciding between the tonga toast and those macadamia pancakes:hyper:

Thanks for the help.

We would always likely be there before 8:00, so probably no issue.....but maybe we'll make an ADR or two just to play it safe.

My only issue with that is we will likely want to remain flexible with eating plans since we have 2 young ones (5 and 3). I don't want to get too locked into eating, and I know we will be using a lot of counter service.

Well, even if you make an ADR they don't require a blood oath or even a credit card guarantee for Kona, so you aren't really that locked in :thumbsup2
