Hello! We're looking into a WDW trip and had a question for those in the know. We have friends and family who might meet us for a day here and there (though not at the same time), but not spending the night. Would they be able to join us at the pool areas for whichever park we choose?

You are only allowed to use the pool at the resort you are staying it. It says so on the signs. They should be able to swim with you at your resort as long as it is not Beach Club/Yacht club. You have to have a wristband to swim at SAB the pool there.

I'm confused by your question. First off, you'll only be able to use the pool at the resort you're staying at, which should have no quantifier to what park you're visiting that day. Also, asking guests who are not registered at the hotel you're staying at can be tricky at best. Certain resorts (ie BW and MK resorts) usually require a room key for EVERYONE in the party to gain access to the pool area. This is to stop day guests at the parks within close distance from coming over and crowding the pool for hotel guests. The best bet is to ask at the front desk of your resort the day you expect guests and see if it's o.k. that day.

i did not understand the question. "the pool area for whichever PARK we choose"?

The rule is hotel guests only using the pools. But, the resort would probably be amenable to letting your friends enjoy a day at the pool with you. And, in my experience, the rule isn't enforced, except at Beach Club/Yacht Club where you have to show your room key to get a wristband and only people with wristbands are allowed to use the pool.

I think by "park" you meant resort, is that correct?

Sorry, first there was a typo, and second I wasn't clear.

We are thinking of staying onsite. We'd like to invite friends and family who live in the area to join us for the day at the parks and at OUR resort to cool off, relax and visit around the pool WITH us. I just didn't know if that would be allowed.

Or, as another example, aunt and uncle come for the day, they offer to watch the kids for us in the evening for us to be able to go out to dinner. We take them up on it. They want to take the kids down to the pool area. They are at OUR resort, WITH registered guests. Would they be allowed to do this?

Thanks for the feedback, and sorry about the mixup when I was typing.

The resort pools are for the use of the guests of that resort. Guests of the guests are not entitled to use the pool at the resort.

The best thing to do is speak with a CM at the resort you are staying at and ask them. :)

At worst, if they will not allow it, your guests are more than welcome to join you at your resort in the lobby, restaurants and lounges.

Typically you just need to ask at the desk and they will yah or nah it -- but more often than not its a yah.

It depends...most often the resort may allow it...except SAB at yc/BC .As others have said they require your resort id to get a wristband for access to swim there. They were pretty militant about this when I stayed there in Sept.it is the first time in a long time I saw them actively checking people's arms for the bands. They did indeed ask a rather large group to leave.
