Question re: booking Royal Pacific for October

I'm thinking of doing Royal Pacific for two days (we were waitlisted for two days for Beach Club Villas at WDW, and going to go to Universal for 1 or 2 days anyways, so why not go there for 2 days for a new experience?!)

We'll be going in Octobe 07. Question ... all the rates i see now show it at $239 a night for the standard 2 queen bed rooms, using the Universal web site, and doing it via AAA. Are there other ways to get any other "deals" or prices re: the room? or wait closer to the date? Should i book one now to hold it and then try for a "hot deal" closer to the date? All the hot deals listed on the universal web site are for now thru April/May.

Thanks!

If your dates for October fall out during HHN's you may not find any great deals. Though last year around July I was able to get an APH rate for RPR that was pretty good. I would grab the $229 rate so you have something and continue to watch the rates.

october 4th is the last day of the value season for the on site hotels at universal. rooms are cheaper on this date.

the 7th is a sunday and hhn will be going on that night.
be aware that is you plan to go to the parks on that sunday the 7th, they will close early in order to get set up for hhn. ( halloween horror nights which is a hard ticket event.)

my charge for hrh on the 7th for the night is $229 with the AAA rate.
rph should be cheaper.

call and ask for rate charges for all 3 hotels for that date.

maybe the prices increase when less rooms are available????
i don't know...

like the other poster stated, book NOW.
you can always modify your room rate.

the hotels usually book full for weekends during the hhn event, especially the rph as it is the lowest priced hotel on site.

Shoot

We were going to go there October 6 and October 7 ... then transfer to Disney on the 8th for the remainder of our vacation.

I'm wondering now if that isn't a good idea? How early will the parks close?

Is HHN in both the parks? My kids are wimps (affectionately spoken grinning), so i know they won't want to go there. That could be a time for us to do City walk .. they love wrestling, maybe go to that wrestling place there?

Yikes ... i'm just a fish out of water at Universal!!

i am coming from disney on oct 4 to hrh.
that is the last day of their value season.
paying $191.20 for the night which is a good price. (using AAA)
then on friday the rates jump up a lot due to the weekend.( and in regular season then)

weekdays will be cheaper.

can you make the universal part of your trip starting on monday the 8th columbus day and do 2 nights then or make it the wed/thur prior for an even better rate?

each year hhn changes the hours of the park closing. last year studios closed to the public at 5pm and ioa at 6 pm
the park it will be held in will close 1 hour before the other park.

and last year there was a special for $10 for people to go to IOA from 4pm to 7pm prior to HHN which was held at the studios side. i think that started after the 2nd weekend though.

go to the universalorlando.com website and pull up the calendar for october.
you can see there the hours the parks will have.
if you see closing at ioa at 6 and studios at 5pm, that is because of hhn.

hhn is still in the making and no release yet on which park or both the event will be held.

if you plan on going on that friday and saturday, don't worry. be at the parks early and you will be able to do everything before they get crowded.

you will also have the FOTL availability so no waits.

crowds do not begin until about 3ish in the afternoon. people start coming to the parks for the rides before hhn starts.

the beginning of oct is not as crowded as the end of october. that will go in your favor.

how old are your kids? hhn is not recommended for kids under 14.
it is a hard ticket event which means an additional fee for the ticket.
fotl is not valid for hhn rides and attractions.

if you can not change your dates, be at the parks early, eat at off times and spend the evenings at the hotel for swimming, kids activities or city walk.

you should try to book before the end of june if you have your heart set on staying at hrh during hhn times. they fill up fast. last year they booked the standard rooms up completely by 3rd week of july.
the hrh has less rooms than the rph or pbh.

if you can't get hrh, try for pbh. it has a lot to offer and is very nice for a first timer to stay there.

sorry, but i'm back.
i just reread your original post.

you want to stay at rph.

book early as even though they have 1000 rooms, they do fill up quickly for the standard rooms during hhn times.

and, they are the cheapest hotel on site.

if you have AAA, you can get a decent discount on the rooms.

i stayed there last year and it has a lovely lobby and good dining places on site.
