Hi fellow Disney fans! It's meandthemouse here! My boyfriend and I will be traveling to WDW in March of 2012 to celebrate our 7 year anniversary (can you believe it?! I really really really hope he proposes to me then!):lovestruc Anywho, we booked our 7 day trip through Jetblue for the free dining offer Yay! We are currently booked at the Caribbean Beach Resort. It is lovely and all but I have stayed there 3 times, once including him. So needless to say I am bored with it and he wasn't too impressed by it. (especially after staying at the dolphin a few years back). I would LOVE to upgrade to the Poly or Contempo to make our stay even more memorable. How do I figure out what the extra cost would be to switch over to another hotel? Or should I just stay at CBR? I know I have to make the change through Jetblue. Has anyone done something silimar? Do I wait and when I get to Disney ask to switch then? Can anyone out there give me some advice please? Thanks so much!!!

Love,
Meandthemouse

Welcome to the DIS!

To get an idea of what the upgrade would cost you, you can go to the Disney World website, www.disneyworld.com, and at the bottom, click the line that says, "Special Offers." You can price out what your current resort stay is costing you (so that you can then subtract that from your Jet Blue price and get the cost of your airfare). Then, do the same trip at the Poly or CR, get your new total, and add back the airfare. Then you'll know approximately what the upgrade would cost you.

You also might try the Wilderness Lodge or Animal Kingdom Lodge, which are deluxe but priced less than the Poly or CR. You might also enjoy the Beach Club, Yacht Club or Boardwalk Inn, which are in the same area as the Swan/Dolphin and have quick access to Epcot and the Studios.

Hope you have a great trip and that all your Wishes come true! :)

Be advised that if you waited until you got to Disney and asked to be upgraded to another resort, you are going to be paying full rack rate for the room and lose any discounts you already have in place.

Best to do it now.

Should you decide to stay at the CBR, I'd suggest that you take advantage of the amenities that the resort has to offer if you haven't done so in the past. The marina has all sorts of watercraft that's available to rent as well as bicycles and surrey bikes. There's also a pool table at the marina and we've always been told that it's free to use.

Thank you all for your replies I very much appreciate it!!:cool1:
