Question on paying for DVC DDP

We are adding the Dining Plan to our October trip. In the past we paid for it at check-in, but I know that is not allowed now.
My question is-can I pay for the Dining Plan when I book by using Disney Gift Cards? I can buy these AND get gas points so it is a great benefit if I can do that.

Yes, you certainly can. This is what I did for this past trip. 12 separate gift cards as a matter of fact! Just make sure they are Disney and not Disney Store gift cards. (you can get them at Disney Store, just make sure its the general Disney gift card rather than store specific)

I haven't personally done it yet (will for our Nov trip) but I've read here that you can. I am going to pay for ours this way too!

You can! I paid for our using a combination of our Disney Visa reward points and the rest was the general Disney gift cards (like a pp said, be sure they are the general Disney gift cards).
