It appears I will have multiple contracts, will I still have only one member number? And when I make ressies will I be able to tell MS where to get the points? I will have 2 UY's and actually 5 seperate contracts, this could get really confusing. I hope Bill Neth's (Caskbill) DVC vacation planner is up to the task. Any help is appreciated. Rich

Multiple contracts with the SAME UY will have the same member number. I think that a different member number will be assigned for different UY's.

It's always a good idea to specify to MS which points to use and confirm all balances at end of call. Those account activity reports are in an alien language. I shutter to imagine what yours will look like - especially if you do some borrowing, banking, and ressie modifications!!!

Have fun juggling all those points!!

I have 4 different contracts at 2 resorts with 4 different use years. Each account does have a separate member number- but add-ons within those accounts share the master contract number.

It does require a little extra accounting to track, but MS is always great confirming the balance in each account with every phone call.

Yes, you will need to instruct them which points to use, but they have always been very helpful to me in that regard.

I have been using a checkbook program (MS Money) to track each account and it has worked quite well- although it does track the points as $$ (with 2 decimal places!). I just treat each reservation as a check- entering the details (resort, room type, date) in the notes and the point cost as the amount on the check. If I use points from more than one account, I simply cross reference the accounts on the same "check".

I know Caskbill is working on a means to track points and I;m sure it will cover multiple accounts.

Enjoy! :)

You're still killing me!!!

Well thanks Doc. I'm going to try that. The program I do have can only track one contract and I got it all messed up last fall trying to use it for both contracts. I fell back on a notepad and pencil.

The contracts for different use years must have separate contract numbers. If they are add ons they will have the same base contract number. If any are resale for the same use year, they could have the same or different numbers as I understand it. As for the points usage, any points for the same resort, same use year and same account should function as one account. So if you had 2 contracts at OKW with the same Master number, you should not have to worry about which contract they came from when you use points. For points from different contracts, different resorts and different use years; you better be very specific. That's why I like email as it gives me a record. I specify which points I'm using, how many and the remaining balance for any use year and contracts involved.
