Question on moving reservation

I have a trip I may need to move from January 2010 to April 2010 we are actually moving it to Easter we booked at 11 months for BLT.

Our 11 months at Easter will be later this month do I have member services cancel and then rebook.

Our use year is December and these were 2010 points and banked 2009.

Any advice you can give me.

If you know that you are changing, you can call now and cancel. Then, when your 11 month window opens, call and just book what you want.

You can do it in the same call, if you really wanted to, but I don't know, for Easter week, if I would want to take the extra time that morning to do that.

With a Dec UY, and an April 2011 vacation, your 2009 and 2010 point will still be valid for this trip since it takes place in your 2010 UY.

I have found the if you keep the contact time with MS as short as possible, there is less chance of a mistake.

Thanks so much. Thats what I was thinking Cancel this week and make the reservation at 11 months.

The January trip is all 2010 points and April will encompass all those points and the other BLT points we have with a few left over.

We have a wonderful reason to cancel but I am going to miss the super low crowds of January.

I agree - cancel now since you know you will not take the January trip (We all assumed you meant January 2011 ande April 2011). Then the banked points will be in your account all ready to be reused and the CM can get right to making your Easter reservation. That time can go fast, especially if you are planning on a MK or stanadrd view.

After you make the April 2011 reservation, ask the CM to review your points status. You are listening to make sure that what is left in your account are the current 2010 use year points. The CM should have used all of the banked points first. That way, the "few left over" can be banked if you do not need to use them before the end of your use year (11/30/2011). Easier to fix a mistake right when it happeens than it is a few days or months afterwards.

I always check the DVC members' website, too. That way I can see for myself that all is well with both the reservatin and my points.
