Question on Lapu-Lapu's

Hi!

Can you order a "virgin" Lapu-Lapu at the Polynesian? I don't drink, but it's my fantasy to sit by the pool and sip a drink out of a large pineapple. (I know, strange one). We're staying there in April, so I figured I'd ask the food experts!

I thought that too - maybe I could get the juice with some Sprite and some tonic water thrown in.

I just wanted to know if you could order one that way. I had a lot of trouble at the AC trying to get one of those glasses they had. I had to order that fancy drink (forgot it's name) in order to get one because of rules and regulations. They just wouldn't give me a "virgin" one, even after I told them I'd pay extra! I'm hoping the Poly isn't the same way.

My DD16 and I were there for her bday trip and the bartender asked her if she wanted a virgin one, which was just juice. So yes, you can get just the juice, lol. I don't remember if there was a difference in price or not.

there was a time at the AC, when they were offering the glasses, that the rule was you HAD to purchase an alcoholic drink to get the glass, they weren't permitted to distribute them with non-alcoholic drinks. They probably would have served you a virgin drink, but not in the specialty glass. This was specific to AC in its last days and not to any other bar.

They did end up changing that rule as the closing approached and they had tons of glasses left.
