Question on HIFS?

At HIFS can you fax in a request for a specific room? and if you do, are you apt to get it? I am wanting a room on the East Track because thats where the pool is and I dont want to get there and have to walk a country mile to get to the pool from our appointed room. Help! Thanks.

We are staying at HIFS as well and I am wondering where I should request a room. I agree with the East Track due to the pool location, but I am wondering where in the east track. What is close to the pool, shuttle, play area? Thanks.

There are two pools. One for East Track which has the kid activities, etc. and a lap pool for Westtrack.

I believe, but am not postive, that most if not all the kidsuites are located in the Easttrack and other types of suites are in the Westtrack. The rooms surround the pools so you won't be a far walk from a pool wherever your room is.

The Easttrack buildings that are closest to the main area are 6,7,8,and 9 but you won't be a far walk from the main area in other buildings. Buildings 12 and 13 are the furthest from the main lobby building. We were in building 11 and with very pokey children and including our wait for the elevator, I think our walk to the main building was maybe 5 minutes.

I don't know about faxing in a room request. The last time I booked a room there, I asked for an "Extintion" room which has a picture of a bald eagle on the wall in the kids room. (my son is an Eagle nut!) and then when we got there, we asked for it again, but didn't get it.

All of the KidSuites are in the East track, so if you booked a KidSuite you definitely won't be stuck in West track. You CAN fax a request for a certain room, building etc. BUT "...it is just a request, not a reservation" (I think that is what we were told when we checked in). I did request a specific building, but we were not able to get it when we checked in, and the hotel was nowhere near full. That said, the buliding we were in (9, I think) was absolutely fine and we had no complaints. Loved the hotel, and we're going back in Oct. I will try "requesting" a certain buliding again, but I'm not counting on it. And you know what? It really doesn't matter.

Check in as early as you can when requesting a certain room.

The room that we reserved was called a classic suite. I wonder if that is in the East Track. I hope so. I have a little 6 yr old boy and would've loved to got the kidsuite but my mom is going too and I didnt think she would wanna sleep on a bunk bed. LOL So I got the Classic and it has a queen bed in the extra room. Dylan wont sleep by himself anyway. LOL

I think it all depends on when you are going. I was there in September, and didn't request a building until check in......and it wasn't any problem.

PS I have coupons for anyone who has a reservation for a free Pizza Hut party. It includes one large topping pizza, a order of bread sticks, and a liter of soda. Makes for a good lunch or just a late night snack (can be used at any time).
