Ok so I have a question, and this is for a family that eats meat and potatoes most of the time, nothing weird or fishy, etc. What is your most favorite place to eat that has good food and not "fancy" foods. We have eaten at the "Garden Grill" "The Crystal Palace" "Whispering Canyon Cafe" and liked it, and also the other people in my family that came with us that like "fancy food" liked these places as well. I just didnt know if anybody had anymore suggestions that would be a happy medium for us to eat when we go back? Thanks for your time and possible help, and hope to be there next year!!! princess:

This would be best place on the dining threads. I'll ask that it be moved there.

For meat and potatos, I would reccomend Biergarten in the Germany Pavillion of Epcot.

My family loves 50's PT at DHS and dinner at LTT in MK gets a bad rap but we like it for basic comfort food.

I'm one of the pickiest eaters ever - I eat like a 10 yr old and I'm 25 :rotfl: I stick to buffets because they usually have something for everyone, and I found that 50's Prime Time, Beaches & Cream, and Sci-Fi Dine In have a lot of the food I like :thumbsup2

Buffets are a pretty safe choice because there is always a wide selection of food.

Most of the TS restaurants have some kind of steak on the menu. Some of them come with sauces or sides that can be eliminated or changed to accomodate your basic taste and still appeal to those who like "fancy food."

Take a look at the menus on allears, on this site and on the Disney World site to see what might fit all the members of your group.

My dh is the same way. Stick with buffets, there's always plenty of options there. Some of the non buffets we've done are:

*Sci Fi
*50's Prime Time
*Hoop de doo
*Liberty Tree
*Mama Melrose
*Coral Reef
*The Plaza
*Whispering Canyon
*Tony's
*Olivia's

From a "fancy food" perspective, no one in our family likes the food at the buffets and that includes our young children. I would not consider the buffets a happy medium at all. For the characters we can do the breakfasts but would not consider lunch or dinner buffets at all.

I suggest looking at the menus for the following: (also note Lunch menus sometimes offer simpler fare than dinner( Le Cellier, 50's PT, Chefs (lunch is simple), LTT for lunch, The Plaza in MK, Wolfgang Puck Express in DTD, Via Napoli has good pizza, Tutto has basic Italian dishes. These are some places we have dined when we were with some pickier diners. We actually like all on the list and we also like other types of food like Flying Fish, CG, BlueZoo etc.

Another idea that we have used is off site dining. We found a happy medium at Black Angus Steakhouse, Miller's Ale House and The Village Inn especially for breakfast.

Haha... welcome to my world. Although, it is just me and my husband. There are some great places out there to view menus in advance. That is exactly what I do when I want to plan. It has become soooo helpful.

If you go here: http://allears.net/pl/packages10a.htm Scroll to the bottom of the page. It will show you all the restaurants, where they are located, and what type they are. Click on the name of the restaurant to get the menu. It is very helpful.

My husband and I love Liberty Tree Tavern, The Crystal Palace, and Sci-Fi Diner. But, we all have our own preferences. :)

I think Le Cellier at Epcot's Canada is a great place for the steak crowd. I remember some enjoyable dining there.

I recommend 50's prime time for some June Cleaver good cooking. We also ate at a USA themed place where they dressed in red white and blue and served apple pie and home cooked things like pot roast and mashed potatoes. It was near the presidents display I think...:upsidedow have a good trip!

I like the places that offer rotisserie chicken meals (chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy, veggies). They serve this meal at Sunshine Seasons, and also at POR's food court (and maybe other places that I don't know about!). It's not too expensive, and great "comfort food".
