Question on booking?

3 of the 5 nights I want are available, what is the likelyhood of the other days becoming available? And how do you play this game? we already have a ressie at a resort we dont particularly care for... we would have to use all the points to book then cancel and bank the points before the deadline?

And the worry about all of this is that it is the week between Christmas and New Years.....

Are the nights consecutive? If so, and you are not opposed to a split stay if those others don't come though, then I would book, and change my wait list for those two nights.

If they are not, then I probably would wait until I saw some consecutive and go from there.

We do a split stay every summer and really don't mind them so I would always book where I wanted to be a few nights then stay an entire time at one I did not.

Once you book the 3 nights, then keep checking online too since you might be able to piece it together that way. Any modifications to your current reservation do need to be done through MS as you only have the ability to cancel entire reservations online.
