I understand 11 months home resort and 7 month non home. My question is when someone owns at two resorts, are they able to reserve a room at one of the home resorts at the 11 months and use some of their points from the other resort to complete the reservation? Would this be a reason why some bought the 25 points at VGF to give them a booking atvantage?

You can only combine points from multiple home resorts once you reach the 7 month booking window. During the home resort priority period, they remain separate.

You could only use the 25 points at VGF at 11 months, you could also bank and borrow for a possible 75 points total.

I think it's confusing when Disney talks about booking your home resort 11 months out without mentioning "with home resort points". You can think of points like currency. If you want to book VGF more than 7 months from check-in you need to pay with VGF points. If you are booking a resort 7 months or less from check-in, any points can be used to pay for a stay.

In other words, the booking priority is tied to the points. If you have enough points at resort XYZ to pay for your stay, you can book that stay more than 7 months out. They could be points you own (banked, current UY or borrowed) or points you received as a transfer from someone who does own at that resort. For example, I don't own at VGF but I could book there 11 months out if I arranged for a VGF owner to transfer enough VGF points into my account to cover the cost of the stay.

Thanks for the information, it kind of confirms what I thought, I could not understand buying 25 points only, but when it was pointed out about the banking and borrowing it made a little more since meaning a stay at VGF every third year. I just happy with my single BLT home resort, so far been able to stay at all resorts I have wanted. Will stay at them all, still have to hit two more at WDW, HHI, and VGC. My favorite at this time VWL.
