Question on afternoon tea at GF...

I tried to make reservations today for afternoon tea at GF & they were completely sold out for dates I was interested in. Does this normally sell out? Has anyone ever called & gotten reservations on day of?

I just got back. We had tea on Saturday. I don't know about being able to get a PS on the day of, all I can say is keep trying for the PS, but also, head over to the Grand Floridian and try to get a stand by. There were several people who showed up without PS's and I think some of them got seated. I heard the hostess say "First Come First Serve" for the people who show up without PS's. There are 3 seatings, 2:00, 3:15, and I think 4:30. Good Luck.

P.S. The tea was great. I had the raspberry tea, 5 tea sandwiches, onion tart, scone with devon Cream and jam, jam tart and choice of 2 pastries. Excellent.

I may be completely wrong, but are you sure they weren't checking for Alice's Tea party for children. This happened to me. The CM had no clue there was an afternoon tea at GF and had to check with a superviser after I insisted that there was one. The only reason I figured it out is because he asked me the ages of the children after making the ressie. So I would call back to make sure you were on the same page. I have never seen it sold out.

still nothing for 3 dates in the next week. Apparently word is getting out & it is selling out for most dates. I will check closer to & may even walk over & see if we could wait for table.

Don't know if this will help, but I'm going to be cancelling a PS for 2 on Dec. 22. I think it's the 3:15 seating.
