This is frustraiting (sp) for me, I made our ress. for the hotel since nine month agead of time and made all our ADR's before the 180 days mark and got all the hr we wanted without any problem. We be there on 9/16 thru 9/27. We are flying from PR and my dh have a nephew that live in Fl and want to meet us there maybe for one day. I told my dh to ask him when he is planning to meet us because he won't be able to have dinner with us. He said "but why not? you just have to add him in our ADR" I told him that even do is sound easy, really is not. :scared1: We are going to celebrate ds 5th birthday and I told him that I'm not making any changes in our plan or canceling any ADR afer I spend all this time planing, so we have a wondelfull trip and ds have a great birthday trip. You can tell I'm a little upset about it.

So my question is, Do they let us add one more person in our ADR?

If you're just changing from 3 to 4 people it should not be a problem. I did that this past June for an entire trip after we asked our son's friend to join us on vacation. The only problem was Teppan Edo because of the seating arrangements around the hibachi grills.

That is the problem, he never alone. He always with a girlfriend of a friend. I will tell dh to call and ask him the date he is planing to meet us and if he's will coming with some one.:confused3

It is most likely that you will have a problem, especially if you are going from 3 to 5. At 5 you need a new table size and there aren't that many available to begin with. Also this is during free dining, right?
I do not think you will be able to do it.
Good Luck

You will have to make a new ADR(s) and then cancel your old one(s)...

This happened to us last year...I call at the 180 mark for my family of four...At about three months before the trip my Godchild said she wanted to come...Of course I could not say no...I called to add her to our existing ADR...I was told I could not...This caused big trouble....Almost everything we wanted was not available...We were going for the baby's birthday and I wanted to go to Chef Mickey's...I had to change our entire touring plan to get an ADR at CM...That meant changing all of our plans that I spent hours working on...It was worth it in the end because we all had a great time and I was glad to give my Godchild a special vacation...

So, long story short...You cannot just add on people to your reservation...Sorry :guilty:

Good luck!!!

Thank you all for your imput.

I just going to talk to dh and tell him to talk to his nephew (who is not a child, he is more than 28 yr) to see what he is thinking and to let him know that he won't be able to have diner with us. I'm not changing my ADR's just because he decided to meet us for one day:sad2: He came on vacation a month ago, so is not like he have not seen him for years.:confused3

I would call first...See if you can add on...You may get lucky...Tell him to meet you before or after if you cannot add on...But it is worth a try first.

It does depend on a lot of things so please don't make yourself out to be the bad guy right away.

I would suggest you explain to your husband that you will try and add the nephew and whatever guest (if any) to your dining reservation but if you can't, the nephew will have to eat elsewhere. Give it one shot at least.

If it doesn't work, stop. And then give your husband the phone number of Disney Dining so the nephew can call every day to see if he can get in on his own. If he does, great. If he doesn't, well, then he'll know just how difficult it can be.

I agree with disnut. You can easily become the bad guy. You may not like or approve of the nephew but, family is family.

Would it be that terribly bad to have to change 1 ADR. I just had to change 8 ADR's in which I had finally gotten LaCellier after 5 years of trying to get in. My parents are now going with us. I am thrilled they are going. I will try until the last day of our trip to get into La Cellier. There is always next trip.

This is a vacation! Don't let yourself get burried in all of the planning and reservations, it is supposed to be fun. And, I bet it will not be your only vacation to WDW in the years to come.
