Question on 1 night DVC stay

I have a great friend at work who has a bunch of banked points that might need to be used up. We talk DVC all the time. I wanted to book one night at a deluxe for my kids at the end of the free dining. But with 4 kids, its gonna get expensive. So I am thinking I might ask my friend to rent me enough pts for a one night stay. I think he will go for it since its not many! I would love to do a CLUB level... I either want AKL or WL (will AKV be available 10/1???) For cheapies sake, I would love to do 2 studios. When does AKV open? And if its not open then, does VWL have a club level?

VWL does not have a club level; AKV is the only DVC that offers that.

I don't know about availability at AKV, but your friend needs to call quickly if you want to get into VWL at the beginning of October. The F&W festival is very popular with DVCers, and VWL seems to fill up right after BWV and BCV do. It's also one of the smallest DVC resorts.

I'm not sure when AKV opens, either. But it will probably be very difficult to get into. (Maybe not for single night, though.) A lot of DVC members will want to "check out the new DVC."

Also, you mentioned that you want to go at "the end of free dining". You may have been just using that as a time parameter. However, if you are wanting to go and use free dining, you need to be aware that it is not available to anyone staying on DVC points. It's only available to you if you are staying at a resort at full rack rate.

Multiple AKV threads have verified access to Club level rooms starts on 12/1/2007 so no concierge level DVC will exist before that date

You could of course rent points to stay in eth Disney colletion and get to concierge level - but that would be signifigantly more points

If we were looking at 2 rooms at say, WL or AKL (I am thinking of 1 full night for the kids to have fun, we already have 11n booked with free dining) NON DVC, what would we be looking at for points? Or is there a way to find out? I know we could do 1 deluxe room at WL.

Sorry Mike, I missed your post in there somewhere. No, I am booked WITH free dining 9/21-10/2. So I am looking to either take 1 day off that and stay DVC (if possible) one night 10/1 and still leave 10/2 OR stay 10/2 and leave 10/3 (airfare is not booked). I guess I also wouldnt mind one night on the front of our stay... yeah, then the kids wont want to stay at ASMo!!

If anyone doesnt mind, can you please check if there are 2 studios available at VWL on 9/30 or even 9/20? Or AKLV? It would be 1A, 2C in each studio. This way if there are rooms available, I can ask my co-worker tonight to rent me some points. I wouldnt mind 2 nights at either too! 9/30 and check out 10/2. I would hate to bug him if I cant even get in! Thanks guys... we are planning on taking the DVC tour when we go for our anniversary trip the first time in Sept!

You can't use points to stay at WL or AKL (after Sept 1) since they are connected to DVC resorts.

Also, it is just as easy for your friend to contact MS as it would be for someone here to find out availability for you.
