Question -Magnolia Building @ POR

Last year we stayed at the French Quarter, I believe we were in Bldg 6, we had two connecting rooms, one was a corner room and we looked out into a pretty courtyard. It was a quick walk to the food court, too.

So this year we're bringing my mom. Her favorite resort was "Dixie Landings", she had stayed there a couple of times with my dad before he passed away. I would like to stay there with her this year but she's had back surgery and hip surgery and cannot do a whole lot of walking. We will be renting a scooter for her, but she'd rather not have to use that around the hotel area.

Is the Magnolia building close enough to the food court/restaurant/shop and pool area for my mom? I know Bldg. 14 in AB would be the closest, but I'm not really crazy about the decor of those rooms. I'd like to request ground level rooms in the Magnolia building but I can't tell from the map how far it is (there's a little bridge to go over, right?)

I've made the reservation for FQ already because it's the 'smallest' complex but I think she'd like to stay at Riverside if it's not going to be too much for her. Should I stick with FQ or change to Riverside?

We just got back from POR Magnolia Terrace and I think its far for someone who has had surgeries (its far for someone who hasn't had surgery, me 40 !! There are acutally 2 bridges, one to get you closest to Ole Man River and the next bridge brings to the the Food Court/Lobby/Store. Even when you cross that 2nd bridge and are actually in the building, there still is alot of walking. I too perfer the Magnolia vs AB, so unless your mom is totally opposed to using the scooter at the resort, I say go the Magnolia/scooter route...It is sooooo pretty on that side, and it will bring back happy memories for her.
