question....going in july

Well, I'm very excited that my trip is coming, but I have a question. Has anyone used the new service that Disney is providing that they get your bags for you at the airport and when you come back to your room they are there?? And how does this work with your carry-on? I'm confused. It sounds to good to be true.

I was going to ask this same question, because the lady on the phone made it seem very confusing....

But how I took it was that you get your bags and go to the people with the van, give them the bags, and when you get to your resort they are there ... I don't know how this can be, I guess that's why I was curious too.

Maybe Tinkerbell gets the bags and brings them!! I don't know. I may just go get them myself rather than be walking around the park, wondering all afternoon if I'll have clothes to change into when I get back to my room!

This is how I understand it will work. Several weeks before you leave home you will receive luggage tags to put on your suitcases BEFORE you leave your home airport. The next time you see them will be at your Disney resort. The tags will identify them at the Orlando airport for them to pick up this is why you must give airline info and flight times when you book your vacation. When YOU get to Orlando there will be signs for you to go to a waiting Disney shuttle bus that will take you and your carryons to your hotel. When you are departing your vacation you will again have luggage tags on your bags at your Disney resort and they will transport them to the airport and the next time you see them is (at home with your clothes neatly put away!) at your home airport baggage claim area like normal. I think I'd pay extra for them to be dry cleaned and hanging in my closet when I get home!!

Heck, I'd pay extra just to have someone carry them up the 3 flights of stairs to my apartment!!

There are lots of posts about the magical express service over on the transportation board. I've been looking into it since we will be using it in August. It sounds like it can take up to 7 hours for your bags to get to your room so be sure to pack things you'll want for your first day in your carry-on. I'm going to make sure that we have our swimsuits in our carry-ons!
