Hi everyone...we just joined dvc this week... Sent closing docs in today!! I have some questions...first, we want to return to Disney in October this year. Our home is BLT. We want a Mk view studio room... Is this going to be possible if I book this week? Second, how do you go about buying park tickets and adding dining plan? Is this all done when you book? Should I add dining plan now or wait to see if they offer free dining? I want to be able to make dining reservations and i know I will need by reservation number to do that. Any input or tips would be great!! Thanks!!

Free dining is not available anytime when booking with DVC points.

As for the october booking, try the regular path with MS first, if they don't have available what you are looking for, contact your Guide. Usually they can pull some strings for members who just bought, since you obviously couldn't book sooner.

As for dining reservations, I don't have experience with those in combination with the DP, but I thought that you could still book ADR even if you don't have bought the DP yet.

I agree with what Brandis has answered. Also, you do not need the DP or a lodging reservation to make an ADR. If you want the dining plan, then you can just tell MS when you make your reservation. But, you will pay for it immediately under the DP rules. You can add the DP later just by calling MS - but you must do it at least 48 hrs before your reservation begins.

If you will be returning to WDW within 366 days of your first check-in date, you could get an Annual Pass and get the DVC discount of $100 off the price. We find that is the best possible ticket for us to use. Then we usually get the TIW card as well, since it also saves us 20% on meals. We have found the DDP is much more expensive than paying OOP using the TIW card discount.

If you want to do the DDP, you will have to reserve it with Member Services, but you will need to pay in full at the time you reserve it. For that reason, most would say to wait until 48 hours before your trip to reserve and pay for the DDP.

just to clarify: this is true if you bought direct from disney. but if you bought resale, not so much.

and yes, free dining is a thing of the past for you now. (unless you want to rent your pts out and pay cash for a hotel package reservation.)

don't you need your reservation number if you want to book dining at 180 + 10? otherwise you would have to call everyday so it would be 180 days from each day...correct?.....:confused3
