Hi everyone!

I was wondering is someone could give me help with this.

My husband and I are leaving for our Disneyland trip on Sunday and while we are not new to Disneyland, there are still a few rides that we haven't done yet. I tend to avoid some rides because of my size (26/28). Mostly, I avoid the Fantasyland rides because of the small turnstiles, but that okay since we don't have kids yet.

But I am curious about the Finding Nemo Subs and Roger Rabbit Cartoon Spin. These are the only two rides we haven't ridden because of my anxiety about turnstiles.

So, does anyone know if these rides have turnstiles throughout the queue or exit?

I even emailed Disney guest services but they couldn't give me a straight answer.

We're looking forward to out trip and I rather not be embarrassed if I can't fit through a certain turnstile.

Thanks in advance.. Any help will be greatly appreciated! :goodvibes

The title of this thread made me laugh!

I'm no expert--I've only been on that ride once--but I remember thinking the inside was very small and the seats were very narrow, and I'm a pretty small person. I remember reading somewhere that if you are a larger person or have mobility issues, you can ask to experience the ride from a room at the top of the sub. Not sure about turnstiles.

On Nemo subs there are no turnstiles in line....however inside the Subs is INCREDIBLY tight even for "average" sized people. I'd recomend the viewing room for this one!

Roger Rabbit doesn't have any turnstiles that I know of.....:thumbsup2

I just spoke with a Disney operator, and she said that she does not recall having seen any turnstiles for those two ride attractions, only bars that you pass thru.
I suggest walking just close enough to these rides, so as to see if their entry way, might be an issue. I do not believe that you will have a problem with these rides. I rather believe the answer that was given to me. DGS, can be called again, earlier in the day, when there are more people to assist with answering questions.

Have a great and fun trip!

Don't worry about it - I'm the same size, and I did the Finding Nemo ride last year without any problem (going down the circular stairs and sitting in those bucket seats). Did Roger Rabbit several years ago (didn't like the ride itself so haven't been back) but I don't recall any problems size-wise.

The only ride I've been uncomfortable from a size perspective is the astro orbiter.

Have fun!

You'll be fine in Roger Rabbit. Nemo might be tight and slightly uncomfortable, but doable. My husband is a BIG guy and he was able to watch. If you're that worried about it, see Nemo in the viewing room. And I'll be honest....I enjoyed it better in there!!! And you have NO wait. For me, that was priceless (we have 2 kids).

I've never ridden astro orbiter because of that reason...so I can't comment on that one. But honestly, it's not a ride that I feel like I need to try.

As far as the turnstiles, go in sideways, or at an angle, and you shouldn't have a problem! I know it's intimidating to try, but I think you'd be fine. The teacups may be a good one to see how it goes...the turnstile there is right in the beginning of the line, so if you truly couldn't fit, it's easy to get out (rather than walking back through a huge line). The teacups themselves might be tight...but if they are, just walk on a cup, try it, and if it's too tight, just walk right off...you'll have enough time to do that before the CM closes the door.

I HATE going on storybook for that reason...it's a boat and I always feel like between my husband and myself, if we're both on the same side it's lopsided....but I just try to get sat on opposite sides if my kids insist on going on that ride.

Dumbo is surprisingly roomy.....along with Peter Pan, Snow White, Toad, etc. Worst case is that you and your DH will have to ride separately on Dumbo...the CM's should know.

I'd hate to have you not try rides because you're afraid. You could also send your DH through the line and you could go through the exit and meet him at the front....but I truly believe you shouldn't have to go to that extreme.

I guess my advice...don't be afraid to ask the CM's. They deal with this all of the time.

Thanks for all the good advice! :goodvibes I'm just gonna go for it and try these rides. I hate that we've gone on three recent trips (we have deluxe AP's and live only a couple hours away) and we keep missing these rides. I hope I'll be okay..

I'll let you all know how it went when we get back.

Thanks everyone!

If you look at my trip report, you can see that I am a very big boy. 5'10 and 295lbs. I do not have fat people issues on any ride. You will be fine.

I just wanted to add that the DLR is pretty Fat people friendly. Go Disney! Be you short, tall, thin or fat... they don't discriminate against anyone's money.

Calliehawk.......
WHen are you going? I am planing a trip for April and I am deathly afraid of this....I do Disneyworld with no problem( except the haunted mansion turnstyle) but disneyland is a whole new thing for me. WOuld you really be able to scope out all of the turnstyles in the park when you go and message me back? Im not worried about the ride sizes...just the turnstyles... I recently lost over 100 pounds, but I still have a lot to loose and I would hate to miss out on somehting because of my fear...

I have been having nightmares about the size of things in California......
Thanks!:goodvibes

I am short and a about a size 28. The only ride we did that I remember having real issues with was the snow white one. The others were uncomfortable but not to the point I thought I would get stuck - just had to go sideways and onto my toes. THe nemo submarine was fine, we lucked out and I ended up with an empty seat beside me but otherwise it would be squishy! Mullohand madness was uncomfortable they had to push really hard on the bar to get it to latch. They tea cups were tight on the ride but the ladybugs in DCA were just fine, must be the height of the spinner wheel in the middle.

I just checked my girl jeans... I'm a 26 in womens. If there is a turnstyle, I go through it sideways. We are the way God made us and should not be embarrassed.

Big can be beautiful.

Hi! I too am a pooh sized gal. DD and I have deleux APs too. We have been going regularly for a little over three years now and I have never gotten stuck on a ride or in a turnstile yet. The turnstiles in Fantasy land are managemable - dd loves fantasy land so there is no getting out of that for me!

The only ride we have never done is Astro Orbiter because dd is not interested. All other rides have been fine.

Relax, don't worry, and most importantly enjoy your trip!

Hi there..

Yeah, we're leaving tomorrow actually (the 19th). I would be happy to scope them out for you. I actually planned to start taking pictures of ride seats and turnstiles so that other pooh sized people can judge to see if they will be okay and can put their minds at ease.

I've actually decided that I'm gonna try some of the fantasyland rides this time around. We'll have four days this trip to scope everything out.

So I'll let you know when we come back and hopefully I'll have some pictures of turnstiles to show you.

But don't worry.. you will be fine... :goodvibes

We're the same size- I had no problem with either! A tip about the subs- we did them first thing on our Magic Morning and there was no line, no crowd.

As for turnstiles, just turn sideways and scootch. There were a few that were tight...mostly the old dark rides...but nothing I had any trouble getting through.

Go and enjoy!

My tip about lap bars: On the wilder rides, the ones where you have to actually latch the latch bar, don't sit down first and then pull the bar down.

Have whomever you're riding with get in first and sit down. Then step in, and, as you are sitting, pull the bar down with you. You can easily get it down to the tops of your legs that way. You'll be a little squished, but you won't have the embarassment of trying to force the bar down or the worry that the little one sitting next to you won't be restrained properly.

A Pooh sized friend gave me this tip before my first Disney trip and I've used it successfully ever since!

Hi - thank you so much to posting this thread. I wanted to ask similar questions too! I haven't been to Disneyland for many years and am feeling nervous about our trip (not til next year). I would also love to hear what you have to say when you return. Have a wonderful time.
