About how long do you bake it? I have a recipe that calls for cooked noodles and then it's baked for about 30 minutes. But I'm going to not cook the noodles. Do I need to bake it longer? The recipe (not the one I'm using) on the noodle box has it cooking for an hour using the uncooked noodles method.

Well, I use cooked noodles and bake it for an hour. I can't see how 30 mins would even be long enough.
But I use my own recipe.:thumbsup2

Another vote for at least an hour. I would cook it covered for about 45 minutes and then uncovered for 15-30 minutes.

Well, I cant help on the noodle part. i always buy the pre-cooked dried sheets of pasta, however I do make my own betchamel sauce, meat bolognese sauce, from scratch. I cook this all for 25 mins.

I also use cooked noodles. Mine bakes for at least an hour. sometimes longer because the hubby and I like when the edges are kind of crunchy.

With non-cooked noodles...do you need to add water? And not just sauce? I've never actually tried it that way.

On the recipes that use cooked noodles it us usually ~30-35 minutes covered in the oven. Then uncover and bake 5 minutes more.

The recipes I have for uncooked noodles call for an hour long baking time, covered and have much more liquid in them as well. I don't think I could just convert a cooked noodle to a non cooked noodle recipe easily without adding some liquid to it.

I added quite a bit of wine to it. Also, I read somewhere (it was a few days ago and of course now I can't find it) that covering it with foil traps the steam which helps cook the noodles.

Thanks everyone I will go ahead and cook it for an hour at least. DH and I do like our tomato sauces to be nice and crunchy on the edges. :thumbsup2

I never cook my noodles any more and don't add any more liquid to it than I did when I cooked the noodles first. I put it all together the night before and let it sit, covered with aluminum foil, in the fridge until the next day (sometimes 2). To cook, I just put in the oven at 350 for about 45 min. Then I take off the foil and cook for another 10 or 15 min.

Very good stuff!

Over an hour, covered in foil until 15 minutes before I serve it, I turn the oven off, remove the foil and add some more cheese. (I make sure to stick a fork in it and make sure the noodles are tender, first)

I never cook my noodles either and cook it the same way you do. Comes out perfect every time.

I cook my noodles and then bake for about an hour. I tried those no-bake noodles once and nobody cared for the lasagna that time except my youngest, who couldn't tell the difference. :rotfl:

I would like to make a bunch of single serving of lasagna and stick them in the freezer till I'm ready to make one. Would you make a big lasagna (cooked noodles method) cut it into single serving size and stick them in the freezer? When ready to cook, would you just bake them for an hour?
