I'm thinking of getting a nose job this summer. I read on another board that it could take up to a year for the swelling to go down. Is that true? Do you really walk around for a year with a swollen nose? Yikes! I've heard horror stories. Is anyone happy with theirs?

I haven't had a nose job, but a good friend has. Her nose was technically "swollen" for a long time (I can't remember exactly how long, but yes, it was several months at least), but only slightly after the first week or two (?? sorry, can't remember exactly how long the major swelling lasted, either). But since it was a reduction, the swollen, "new" nose was still smaller than her non-swollen "old" nose, so it wasn't noticable or anything. She's been very happy with hers. But this is just one person, I don't know if hers was the norm.

Good luck.

Yep,

I had one following a broken nose experience. Actual swelling went down within 2-3 months - but it was numb to the tip until almost a year That was a bit weird getting used to. I am so happy I did it. I had a bump that had always made me self-conscious. I only wish I had done it sooner...kinda like DVC....LOL Feel free to PM me if you want more info.

Good luck with what you decide to do!
