Is it your favorite Disney ship? If not, why? And what is your favorite ship and why? debating if I should spend the extra several thousand dollars on the Wish for our next year’s booking

It is not, but it was not fully finished - and still isn't, FWIW, though it is getting closer. I would say the Fantasy is still our favorite, all things considered. I prefer the Wonder, but its hard to say that it isn't just due to the more interesting itineraries. JUST looking at the ship itself, its probably the Fantasy.

While I think it's a beautiful ship and anyone going on it will have a great time, it's not my favorite. One of the biggest negatives in my eyes was the adult pool and club areas. But the food on the Wish is my favorite by far.

I liked many things about the Wish, but there are many things I didn't like. In the end, I feel like the pros and cons evened out so that I would book another cruise on the Wish, but I wouldn't spend several thousand extra to sail on her. Right now, my favorite ships are the Fantasy and Wonder.

Things I didn't like:
*lack of a proper promenade deck
*adult lounges too small
*adult pool too small and no Satellite Falls area.
*lack of drawer space in the cabins
*increase in number of concierge cabins makes it more difficult for Platinum and Gold CC members to book adult dining and tastings before boarding.

Things I really liked:
*Glass shower doors
*New choices in quick service food, i.e., the Cantina and the BBQ options were really good.
*The Rose bar
*1923 Restaurant. Really enjoyed the food, the decor, and the ambiance.

Thing I thought I'd hate but ended up liking:
*The two elevator banks. I know this one seems counter-intuitive. I thought I'd really miss having 3 banks of elevators and find it much less convenient, but I adjusted really quickly and liked the positioning of the forward and aft elevators.
*The centralized laudry. Although part of this was that we were on deck 7, so just one deck away from the laundry. I thought I would prefer the multiple laundry rooms scattered on the various decks but found that having one large laundry room centrally located to be convenient since there were so many more washers and dryers available in one spot.

There have been many comments pros and cons for the Wish. We are sailing on it in November and are excited about it. Since it's a 4 day cruise I know I won't have enough time to experience everything and we will end up sailing it again at some point. Everyone has their favorite ship(s) for one reason or the other. The Wonder is very special to us as it was the first ship we sailed and then went to Alaska on her another time. We love the Fantasy more than the Dream, but doesn't mean I don't like and enjoy the Dream. We had a fantastic sailing on the Magic last November and will not hesitate to sail her again,

At the end of the day, only you can decide how you want to spend your money and if you are in doubt about it, then give the Wish time to get additional "bugs" worked out and sail another ship,

The Wish is a fine, enjoyable ship. Yes, some of the things are still work in progress, as is to be expected with a new ship. It all depends on what you value. Personally, the itinerary is more important to me than the ship... with the Wish being that one exception I've allowed myself. For now though, it is once and done but would not hesitate to sail on the Wish again if it were to eventually offer more exciting itineraries.

We were on the MV and once we got our bearings, we liked the ship. Is it our favorite? Probably not. That would be between the Magic and Fantasy...

I haven't even done my Wish cruise but I've read the reviews from here and watched many YouTube videos and I know that the Fantasy will remain my favourite ship.

Well, I've only been on 2 - the Wish and the Dream and would sail the Dream again before the Wish most likely. But as others have said, a lot of that is due to itinerary at this point. This is maybe more detailed than you were looking for, but I will say I'm glad we sailed on her for her inaugural season and we're looking at the Fantasy or Magic next.

What we liked:
  • BBQ on the pool deck was fantastic.
  • Served ice cream instead of self-serve. No mobs of young kids crowding the machine and making a mess. You tell the crew member what flavor, get your cone and go!
  • MDR food. All 3 of our dinners were fantastic. In particular, between my husband and I, some standouts were the filet at 1923, the scallop appetizer at Arendelle (WOW factor and my husband said it was delicious), and the prime rib at Arendelle.
  • The Bayou - beautiful and great vibe, plus beignets!

What we didn't like:
  • The adult area. That pool is on the smaller side, yes, but even more so, there are no stairs to get into/out of the pool. It's a straight up and down ladder, which may be hard for some. Not a lot of shade and the deck is super hot! We **really** missed Satellite Falls which was possibly our favorite area on the Dream.
  • The super small size of the lounges. They got full FAST. If you were doing an activity in one, plan to show up 20-30 minutes early most of the time to get a seat.
  • The food at Marceline Market and being served instead of self-serve. The food did not wow us at all. In fact, we didn't finish most of what we tried from there at lunch. Being served definitely slowed things down as you had to tell the crew member what you wanted - usually several times because they either couldn't hear or couldn't understand you. Then your full plate was passed OVER the sneeze guard thing to you. If you wanted something from another station you had to then pass your plate back over for the food to be added or get that food on another plate that you then needed to carry.
  • The Little Mermaid show - I'm sure it's fine for some, but it was not my thing. Sorry - but you can't mess with the OG.

What we were indifferent about:
  • Elevators and elevator locations. Didn't really affect us, although I did enjoy the atrium elevators on the Dream. We mostly took the stairs unless we were doing 6 or more flights.
  • Pool number/layout. This did not really bother us as we are not in the pools much. We did use one of the smaller pools - I believe Donald's pool - and it was fine.
  • The Aqua Mouse. I know they want to call it an attraction at sea, but it was honestly a step down from the Aqua Duck for us. The few little videos they show as you are going up the hill do not an attraction make. Overall, it felt shorter than the AD plus a lot of it seemed to be in solid tunnel so you had no clue where you were or any view of the ship. Disney talks about going through the funnel like it's a thing -but it's pitch black and you pretty much don't know you're going through it. We were definitely underwhelmed there.

Magic is my all time favorite as we were on her MV and sailed her the most over the years. Next would be the Fantasy.

The Wish was a beautiful and ship and we had a good time but it had some elements I didn't care for and some things I really liked.

My family has been on all 5 ships, we are platinum cruisers, and our favorite ship is the Fantasy. The Journey is as or more important then the destination, especially in the Caribbean. Other locations like Alaska, Europe, eventually Australia (hopefully soon) you do not really have a choice.

As for the Wish... There are many things I do not like about the Wish, as well as some things I do like about it. I feel it is currently over priced, but that is because it is new. My biggest gripe about it is that to us it feels like it is designed to get more money out of you and the venues are smaller than they should be because they are using a lot of the space on the ship for premium cost items like Concierge, Rainforest, and pricey 3rd party gift shops. You pay a premium to travel with Disney as it is not like the other cruise companies. The Wish is a Disney themed version of their competition. On the other 4 ships you feel that you get your moneys worth and do not feel nickel and dimed for upgraded space and items. The Wish is designed to be like the parks on the water rather than the other 4 that are designed to be an elegant cruise ship experience with Disney elements incorporated. Over all I feel the Wish is everything I hate about the parks and only some of what I like. I really can go on and on, but most other people have said most of the issues, so no need to beat a dead horse.

Overall, if the Wish was my first Disney cruise, it would have been my last. I have no interest in going on the Wish again. That being said, any of the other 4 ships I would go on in a heart beat and plan to go on again in the nearish future.

What does MV stand for?

My hot take is to save the money and not book the Wish. Then, while on that cruise book a placeholder cruise with the intention of sailing on the Wish with a discount.

Oh, I have another question for people recently on the wish... what kind of popcorn buckets are available?

I feel like you are looking for any reason you can find not to take the cruise you have booked on the Wonder. In the original thread, people told you time and again that the Wonder was their favorite ship and why. Or they said they preferred another ship but the Wonder was still awesome.

If you’re looking for flaws, you will certainly find them. It sounds like you would like to find a landslide victory for a ship other than the Wonder. I don’t think you’ll find that (and I feel certain the Wish would not be anywhere near the top of the list if you did a poll,) but if you go into your trip with the mindset that each ship has its own fan club and amazing characteristics, you will have a lovely time.

Decide on your budget and just go for it.

We’ve sailed all 5 and they each have their pluses and minuses.

We are aiming for the Wonder next as it’s the only one my 5 year old hasn’t sailed but would happily sail any of them
