We'll be at the GF June 30-July 15. Now my mom is probably going to able to join us at WDW from June 30-July 5. She wouldn't be able to afford GF. I was thinking of booking her a room at WL. That way she would still be fairly close and have the ferry over to MK (which she loves). Can someone recommend a good room request for her. I would like her to have a nice view and a room that's not too noisy (but doesn't have to be completely quiet). SHould we book woods view and ask for a castle view or would a courtyard view be better. Is there a lot of walking from some areas of the resort? Would it be possible to be close to main lobby and marina for ferry? Anything else you think we should know would be most appreciated. Thank you.

If you want a quiet room, I'd book a woods view & ask for a view of the castle. The pool views can get a bit noisey! Unless you overlook the villa's & quiet pool. We had that view. It was lovely, quiet, but not worth the price of a courtyard view room!

I would also suggest a woods view room. I don't like the solid balcony so would ask for 4th or 5th floor rooms. The rooms facing the MK are great. I would recommend rooms 5032, 5030, 4032 or 4030. These rooms have a good view of the castle and are close to the elevator that goes near the Roaring Fork and not far from the boat dock. We have stayed at the WL many times, mostly in courtyard view rooms, but last Dec. we loved the woods view facing the MK that we stayed in.

Those sounds like the perfect rooms for her. I think I will book a woods view room (hopefully AP rates will come out) and request a castle view and hope for the best. SHould I mention that she'll be celebrating her 77th birthday that week as an extra hope for room request?

We stayed on the sixth floor this past December with a woods view. The view was great. We had a view of the castle. I think the room number was 6026.

bumping? any other thoughts? Is the Woods view a better bet for an older traveler (77) than the courtyard view? I've never even been to WL, we always stay at GF but it looks spectacular. We're a family of five so we really didn't consider WL before but if it's as nice as it seems when my mom stays there I think we'll book it for the "quick trip" Jan 2006 marathon. DH is running it for the first time and my in-laws are coming to watch him so we could just put one of the kids in their room. Tell me more about why I'll love the WL. Thanks.

I had this room on my last stay and it was great. The views were of the castle, the lagoon and Contemporary, but was considered a "woods view" room. This room was very quiet, but located near the elevators and is a quick walk to everything. For more pictures of the room and the view I had, click on the link below.
