Question for the moms

I'd much rather see a mother nourishing her child than the hundreds of exposed g-strings, muffin tops, and other inappropriate clothing all over DL and everywhere else!

:lmao: Amen! I'm a lot more offended by skintight tank tops that don't cover bellies... which are hanging over low-rise jeans (that don't rise over much of anything, even plumber's cracks)! EWWW! who told you this was sexy, people?! :rotfl:

Compared to a mom with a light blanket over her shoulder and a pair of little feet sticking out the other end and swinging blissfully... now, that's a beautiful sight!

Why would anyone mind? Personally I think it is a very calming, natural thing. I have never ever heard anyone say anything negative about breast feeding in public, as long as it is done discreetly (any vital parts covered). I found the best place was at the Baby Center as others have mentioned.

well, I guess I just felt it might make others uncomfortable or something like that. I get stares sometimes and I hear alot from family...I am nursing my 15mo old still and keep hearing "when she can ask for it (which she does-****oo), it's time to take her off the tit." Or when she tries to lift my shirt....though that WOULD be embarrassing at DL :rolleyes1
I love nursing and don't plan on weaning yet :goodvibes I can tell my family to get over it...I don't know what I'd say to a stranger.

Though I would like to know, I've always wanted to know others opinions on public breastfeeding...I am very discrete, but in front of family I don't worry about it? anyone have any stories of reactions they got from BF in public? Do you think people mind...even if you are covered?

I think it depends on the person. We were waiting for the Electrical Parade last Saturday, and I was sitting next to this family in the front row. I was talking to the lady next to me and then noticed that she had dropped her top to BF her baby. I was startled, but it was dusk already, and she was natural about it, so I just didn't look. Later I commented to my dd (19) about it, and she said, "Yeah, I saw." -- There were no shocked reactions from what I could see, and everyone was having fun waiting for the parade.

I agree with a lot of the posters about people being pretty accepting of breastfeeding at DL. Something people are less tolerant of is changing diapers. We were next to a family who decided to change their ds' DIRTY diaper on the table at the Golden Horseshoe whilst waiting for the show to start. I thought people around were going to start stoning them, altho it was pretty gross.

i dont think there is anything wrong with bf in DL, especially since everyone is usually discreet about it. I know when i go to DL when baby #2 is born, i will def. be BF in DL. Thank you for all the great places!!!

Pirates! I read this tip on a message board before my 1st trip with a nursing baby and I was like "no way!" but then I got on the ride with dd and I got it. It was perfect and very easy to be discrete.

I also LOVE the baby center in an almost unnatural, I still want to go there and sit in those little rockers even though all 3 of my girls are weaned!
