Men you were warned! :teeth:

How accurate are ovulation prediction kits?

And has anyone had their menstrual cycle/ovulation be really different a year+ after a miscarriage? Nothing bad, just different from the way it was for the last 17 years.

Thanks. :)

I can only answer your first question: I found the ovulation prediction kits to be very accurate. I've used both brand name and generic, and was pleased with both.

I hope things work out for you.

Personally, I find them fairly useless. It is next to impossible for me to read those darn things because it's not like the pregnancy tests where there either is a line or there isn't. You have to compare the relative darkness of the test line to the control line and to me they always seem so close. I've given up on them on just chart my temperature instead.

And I'm sorry about your miscarriage. :(

I thought the kit was accurate too Jenn. You're talking just the pee on a stick kind? I combined that with taking my temp for a month or two and then new what to expect.

I don't think my cycle or ovulation really changed after a miscarriage.

Thanks for the imput. :)

My ovulation cycle is way off from what it was the 2 times we conceived-if the test is accurate.

I found them to be accurate as well. I got pregnant the first month I used it after months of trying to just count the days (and I had a regular 28 day cycle).

I used the kits - 1st time worked great - got pregnant. Then we struggled for 2 years to get pregnant again (had miscarriage as well) Yes after the miscarriage I was "off" I asked my doctor for the fertility drug- forget the name - pill very low occurance of multiples. Well after taking the drug for two months I got pregnant. It worked so well that I could actually feel it when I ovulated - it was actually a little painful but it worked great - my ds is now 4. Good luck!

Clomid was the drug. It regulates your ovulation. Worked like a charm. Like I said very low occurance of multiples. Tried it after two years of trying and worked on the second month of the drug.

Jenn, no experiance with the kits but wanted to chime in anyways. Have you seen the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility? It is a real neat book, and it really helped me learn the "signs" of good times to try and conceive. Here is a link to her site http://www.tcoyf.com/

Yes, I have heard of that book thanks. :)

I am pretty good about reading my body's signs. ;) :) But since the miscarriage it seems like everything is a little off from before. It was "signs" that prompted me to test for ovulation before what I thought was my normal time. And I turned out to be right so... we will see. :)
