I did not realize that it was spring break ( no kids sorry ...) and or some holiday in Japan falls on the week that I am going to WDW and or Vero and so when I try to call in for some dates last month.. the only thing I got was OKW for April 19.. I am waitlisted for OKWand or SSR 20th,21ts and 22nd,23rd,24th for Vero... how does this thing happens... you think I have a chance in getting a studio.. or should I just book a room now while theres a few available at POP

I'd book a room at Pop if I were you and try to call farther in advance in the future. For trips during February, March or April, two months in advance is difficult. Good luck. Something may still open up for you but it would be good to a have a back up plan.

Don't know about Japan but that is Patriot's Day weekend which is huge in Boston where I am from! Typically, holiday weekends where schools may be closed will be high occupancy times for DVC. I would not count on a waitlist at this late date. Good luck!

Actually, that week (4/19-2/26) is the week of Passover this year. Many schools, especially those in the Northeast have that week off of school.

The DVC resort s have been essentially sold out for that week for some time now. There are several posts that say they are hoping for a waitlist to come through.

OP: My advice is to make a back up reservation (for cash) somewhere and hope your waitlist comes through. If you do that, be mindful of the cancellation date for the cash reservation. Good luck!

Trying to book a month out during a high demand time will usually result in failure. I'd say your chances of getting something are about 20-40%. I'd book a cash options that you can cancel and hope for the waitlist. Also see if DVC has cash options to match the dates you don't get so you can link the days and not have to move.

Believe it or not we called about a month ago to schedule a trip to WDW and got a room at OKW for the 23-26. We were told there were no rooms available for the 19-23 so we booked at POP. Last week we got a call that our waitlist came through and we could choose from either SSR or AKV. We took the AKV because we have never stayed there. You might just get lucky! Wishing you luck!
