Question for republicans

...and the lady who gave $174,000....all in donations under $200. I listen to a guy tonight that felt that was perfectly fine.....didn't matter that it's illegal.

I'd appreciate a source for the 'lady who gave $174,000' please.

If there is a legitimate beef, the courts are where it is supposed to be resolved. However, look how that worked last time with people complaining that Bush Stole the election etc...

You don't think the Secretary of State in Ohio - who was in charge of the Diebold election machines - AND was President Bush's 'go to guy' in Ohio smells a little bit rotten? Just a little bit? Come on. :confused3

Recalibrating the discussion.... If McCain concedes, will you respect your own candidate enough to accept his perspective, and follow his lead, working together with the new administration for the good of the country?

Oh, those days are long gone.

Absolutely. The winner will be the President- if it's Obama I will be disappointed, but we will get on with the next four years. I have always detested the "not MY President" attitude.

::yes::

The democrats always cheat in elections. Jay Severin (former political consultant now radio talk show host) has said that about 5% of all votes cast in Presidential Elections are fraudulent democratic votes. He said it is a dirty little secret that no one wants to talk about. So this election will be no different.

If Obama wins, I will be almost 99% certain that voter fraud helped to get him there. The other concern is the serious allegations of foreign money and illegal campaign contributions. Obama, if he gets to the White House, will get there on a wave of cash; an election that will have been bought and paid for with unprecedented sums of money. Where it came from is a big concern, along with the "vote early and vote often" mantra of Chicago.

When we were at WDW this past April, we visited the Hall of Presidents and met the most knowledgable CM. He was a presidential historian and taught us many things during the 10 min. conversation we had. One of the things he said was that we seemed to have had the right president at the right time throughout history. He sited several examples also. Now I realize that this can be a matter of opinion.

I am not a democrat or a republican. Not even sure if I am considered an independent - more politically apathetic. I do vote though. I know that one person can not make all the decisions for our country. It takes both the president and congress to make it better or screw it up. Seems to me both sides have been screwing it up the past 16 years. Although I think congress has a little more power as a whole and should take more of the blame.

So back to the original OP. AS one posters already posted - I will except the results as they are. Just like I did when Pres. Bush was elected. I just hope the person who is not elected doesn't get all whiny like Al Gore did. Whiny in an adult is not all that becoming. And I would also think to think that those here on the DIS can play nice after the election, but I don't have high hopes for that.:sad2:

One could reasonably argue that the decisions of Herbert Hoover and FDR actually prolonged the Depression. The only benefit that I see in Jimmy Carter's presidency, is that it paved the way for Ronald Reagan. A second Carter term would have been disasterous for the country in terms of capitulating to the Soviets in the arms race, and we would be looking at a very different map of the world today.

One of the examples we quoted was Jimmy Carter. Not sure if I will get my facts straight here, but I guess he was a nuclear something and when we had the problem with the nuclear plant (I believe in PA) he had knowledgable to make the right decisions. I'm not saying I agree with this, but this is what he told us and what HE believed.

The reality is that there is no more and no less voter fraud supporting either candidate (even though that doesn't necessarily assuage folks' frustration that they've "lost" the election).

I guess it depends what you mean. Obviously if McCain concedes, I will accept that Obama has won the election and will be the president. However, I certainly won't have a metamorphosis and become an Obamabot. I vehemently oppose most of the things he wants for our country, so it would certainly not be my desire to "work together with the new administration" because I don't believe that his plans are "for the good of the country". Therefore, I will do whatever I can legally to stop his actions. And I will count the days until the next election.

I'm voting for Obama and wouldn't become an Obamabot either, so no that's surely not what I meant.

Jimmy Carter was a nuclear engineer in the Navy, however, in his capacity as president, he made no decisions nor took any intervention in terms of how to handle the technical aspects of the Three Mile Island incident. He toured the facility within days of the incident, ordered an full investigation and some of his critics had accused him of a coverup. I believe that part is untrue.

Well if a conservative radio talk show host said it is true, then I guess it is!! I sure wish he had clued in the Bush Justice Department so they could find and prosecute this!

You know Jay Severin also used to claim that he had a masters degree.
