Question for *recent* WL concierge and/or Polynesian concierge guests

I'd like to know specifically what the breakfast food offerings are. I am planning PSs right now, and since we're staying concierge at both resorts I was planning on having breakfast before we leave the resort, in the lounge. But if the offerings aren't, in my humble opinion "good enough", I'll make some breakfast PSs too. We'd be happy with a bagel, coffee, and juice, but I have no idea if the lounges even have bagels or not. Been reading about so many cut-backs lately. :rolleyes2 Do they have muffins? We're not really as hard to please as it sounds, but I would like to know what to expect, so I can plan accordingly. We have health issues to consider.

Also, do either of these concierge lounges offer individual containers of yogurt? DH takes Niaspan (diabetes medication) at bedtime and *must* eat a snack along with it, and a container of yogurt will fit the bill, and it's what he eats at bedtime at home. If they don't, I will have to arrange somehow to have some sort of snack at bedtime for him.

Thanks in advance for any recent concierge info! :)

I stayed at both last year, the Polynesian in July and the WL in September. The Polynesian DEFNINTELY had individual containers of yogurt, but it's only out at breakfast, so you'd need to grab one and keep it in your room fridge. I'm pretty sure the WL did as well, but not positive.

As far as bagels, I've seen them at some WDW CL's, but not all. They all do have a selection of *some* of the following:

bagels
toast
English Muffins
Bakery style muffins (asst. varieties)
pastries including coffee cakes, danish, turnovers
donuts

Not sure how much the food offerings change, but when we were at the WL concierge last year there was plenty of food to have a huge breakfast. ;) We never left the resort feeling hungry... which was great because we could just hit the parks without having to look for food. It was especially nice walking down Main St. and seeing the HUGE line at the Main St. Bakery knowing we wouldn't be waiting in it. ;)

Just at WL in Feb. had a wide variety of breakfast snacks. bagel, muffins, cereal, yogurt, milk, juice, coffee, tea, fresh fruit, crossiants, rolls..... we were never hungry when we were on our way to our PS's ;)

Thanks for the replies. The food options you all listed are more than sufficient for breakfast :) It's good to know about the yogurts at breakfast, too. I'll grab one for DH and put it in the fridge in the room so he can have it at night when he takes his medication.

Erika, ONE time I stood in line at the Main Street Bakery. While I enjoyed whatever it was that I bought (I can't even remember now), it really wasn't worth the wait, so I definitely agree about the convenience of having breakfast before leaving the resort. ::yes::

Do they keep the soda and spring water out all day? Or is it only out during the food service time periods? I've read that you can ask to take a large bottle of spring water back to your room. Is this really OK? At home we have spring water delivered every month and we have a water cooler in our kitchen, so we are used to drinking a lot of water. I'd LOVE to be able to have spring water in the room but don't want to if it's not appropriate.

Thanks again! :)

Terry, they have stopped serving oatmeal but you can ask for a pkg. of instant. Also keep some juice boxes in your room. You never know when his bs can drop because of so much walking.

If your husband needs protein he can get eggs, bacon and sausage from Captain Cook's and Roaring Forks.

Also, let the Concierge CMs know before you arrive that your husband would like some sugar free alternatives especially desserts. They will be happy to oblige his needs.

You were on the Travel Channel's special? How awesome! I only caught the last 10 mins of it yesterday, and was very disappointed to have missed it. Anyone know when it will be on again? I have to set my DVR.

We have well water at home (YuckY stuff) so we drink bottled water and are used to it. We have always asked the a cm in the lounge for a bottle of water to take back to our room and they are always happy to oblige. I think the first time I didn't see the individual bottles of water out, I asked if they had them and was told "no, but go ahead and take one of these". So from then on I have had no qualms about asking to take one. Just ask the lounge staff for whatever you need. At the GF and CR they are more than willing to help in any way they can. Don't know about the WL at all, but at the Poly they weren't so great when we were there, but apparently that isn't the norm. :confused3 We were at the Poly in August and actually, one thing I did miss was the yogurt. Didn't see any at that time. ???? I would double check on that if I were you. Also,as you seem a bit worried about what is appropriate, I have seen threads based on concierge guests dissing other concerige guests for taking food to their rooms - don't worry about it at all. I have done it and seen MANY others do it!!! Those threads make me ???. Nobody should spend their vacation watching what others put on their plates! :sad2: I have always seen the food selections replenished. Never had to beg for scraps - except the chocolate covered strawberries in RPC (and after trying them, they aren't that great).

Enjoy yourself and have a great stay!

When we were at the Poly, you had to ask for the yogurt. You can also ask for juice boxes and nestle quick chocolate milk. They keep these items in the refigerator to preserve their freshness.
