Question for Orlando locals

This kind of a stange request but here it goes.

I would like to know if there is a place to self wash your car around RPR area. Normally I bring some microfiber cloths and grab water from the hotel bathroom to wash of the bugs from the trip there. I especially do this during lovebug season and longer stays. It's great to get them off while they are still fresh before it ruins the cars paint.

Honestly, I can't really think of any self-service car wash locations that would be convenient to the Universal area. If I want to wash my car, I'll either go through the car wash as the gas station or I'll use the car wash area in my apartment complex.

If you're traveling during the school year, there are a couple of high schools nearby so you might come across one of them doing a car wash fundraiser. Dr. Phillips HS is literally across the street from the parks so maybe they'll be doing one while you're here.

Years ago I pulled into an apartment complex and washed my car not to far from Sand Lake Rd. I brought my own supplies and had to pay quarters for the water. I might have to do this or if there is a hose somewhere on RPR building out back.

I never use automated car washes, I would even settle for a hand wash place.

There are two automated car washes at Mobil stations near Universal...one in the Kirkman Oaks Shopping Center and one a little further up at the corner of Kirkman Road and L.B. McLeod. I don't use car washes but most apartment complexes in the MetroWest area have some sort of facility there...even if it's a hose and vacuum. Sorry...I don't know of any hand carwash places anywhere near the tourist areas.

It looks like there is a car wash place on LB McLeod that does hand washing - Auto Butler. It isn't terribly far from Universal.
