Question for MyPoints users...

I've always used Mypoints rewards to purchase a RainForest gift card. Here's my question:
I know I can purchase Disney gift cards through DisneyStore.com. Can I use those gift cards to pay towards resorts and Dining? (It would be nice to rack up some more points).

I have used Disney gift cards to pay for dining plan and restauarant expenses. I believe I read where people have used GC to pay for resorts.

I read on here that you can earn for Disney Gift cards at ebates, but I haven't tried.

sorry...what i SHOULD have said is that you don't receive mypoints for purchasing disney gift cards from Disneystore.com.

I cash in my mypoints before vacations for a walgreeens gift card then use that to buy a Disney gift card . And the Disney gift cards I got through 6 months of saving up points from mypoints and my other survey sites got us 7 Character meals paid for, one Ohana dinner, one kona breakfast and one Kona dinner !!!

I cash in my mypoints before vacations for a walgreeens gift card then use that to buy a Disney gift card . And the Disney gift cards I got through 6 months of saving up points from mypoints and my other survey sites got us 7 Character meals paid for, one Ohana dinner, one kona breakfast and one Kona dinner !!!

That's awesome. And I didn't know you could use walgreen gift cards to buy other gift cards. I always cash out for Rainforest Cafe cards (I don't earn nearly as much as you apparently) and we cover our meals there while at Disney.

I was going to do the same thing, buy disney gift cards through mypoints to get the points. I didnt try it, I checked around and it looked like you couldnt get points for gift cards. I will say, I did not see that pop up that usually comes up saying gift card purchases are not eligible for points. I went ahead and cashed out for rainforest cafe for our trip. It was about a 2 week turn around to get the gift card.
Let me know if you find anything different than this. Like I said, I dont know this 100%, but many people posted I couldnt so I didnt want to chance it. Plus the only other down side is if for some chance we had to cancel, I'd be out the $$, but would have the gift cards.

I didn't get the pop=up when I bought my gc's last year, either, but I was not awarded points for that portion of my purchase.

Also, just FYI, some people report that their Wags will not let them use the Wags GC to purchase other gift cards.

I get my Disney gift card rewards from quickrewards.net. With mypoints, I've been getting Walgreen's gift cards and buying Disney gift cards there. I've done this a couple of times at 2 different Walgreen's with no issues.

My most recent mypoints "acquisition" was a T-Rex gift card though!

To the OP- you can use Disney gift cards for dining and at the resorts.

I did the Rainforest gift card once, but since we drive to WDW I have been getting gas cards and with the price of gas going up am I glad, just received another $50 card in the mail and none to soon as our trip is less than a month away. Tho I am impressed Vegancupcake and the free meals.

I too, was looking for the popup that said "no points for gc purchases". But I have gotten some terrific ideas! I never thought about Walgreens!! Thank you all so much. You knew I could count on you!

I would cash in now. I think it usually takes about 4 weeks. I usually cash in as I go. As soon as I have enough to cash in, I do. I have cashed in for Chili's/On The Border/Macaroni Grill and Cracker Barrel that I'll use for the drive there and back (it's about an 18-hour drive for us and we break it up, doing about 14 hours the first day and then spending the night and getting up early for the last 4 hours to Disney). I also just cashed in for a Landry's (Rainforest, T-Rex, Yak & Yeti) for $25. I "redeemed" it probably a week or so ago and that will probably be the last one I actually receive before our June trip (leaving June 4). Although I should accumulate enough points for one more before then, I doubt I will accumulate enough in time to actually receive one before then. I did cash in for one $10 Walgreens GC with the hopes of "buying" a Disney GC with it, but I haven't tried it yet. Which reminds me that I need to try that SOON!

We have about the same drive to make. We are north of you though. I was looking into Visa gift cards. I think that is the route I am going to go. I don't see them letting me buy gift cards at my local Walgreens.

I just wanted to mention that not all Walgreens allow you to buy another gift card with a gift card. The 2 near me do not.

So you may want to ask before doing this.
