Have you ever used your Moby at WDW? If so how well did it work out? We will be traveling with my 5 yo DD and my son will be 10 mos when we hit Disney. He loves the Moby. We will have a stroller as well, but I was thinking we might could take the Moby and let big sis ride if she gets tired and carry him in the Moby? What do you think? Sound like a good idea? We will be going in December. TIA!

I wouldn't wrap at WDW. Too much fabric. I know Moby is stretch and you can pop in and out, but with coats and such I think you will find you will need to re-wrap a lot. Also, have you ever used a Moby at 10 mos? That stretchiness that is so nice when they are little becomes a liability when they get heavier. It winds up not being very supportive over long periods of time and needs to be rewrapped more frequently.

If you like the Moby, you will probably really like either the Beco or Ergo carriers. They use the same principles of weight distribution as wrapping, but have turned it into clips and buckles so it is an easy in, easy out thing.

Good luck!

I was going to say something about the heat, but if you're going in Dec, that might not be AS big of an issue as if you were going sooner. Then again, from what I remember of xmas breaks in Miami during college (the fam moved to Miami the day after I went to college), it doesn't really get COLD all that often... (editing to add....then again, I recognize that Miami is a bit further south than Orlando...)

The Moby does stretch and you do have to re-tie...I never really had to re-wrap, just sort of did strategic quick un-ties and pulls and got it tighter that way. But I also did lots of Moby-style wearing with non-stretchy fabrics, and they do almost the same thing (the Didymos might not do that)...

All that said! I'd get a comfy mei tai or an Ergo, and get your back-carry figured out for the trip. :) I never had a sturdy mei tai (mine was in a summer mesh for the body) and it got painful as DS got heavier, but I hear a good one with padded straps and sturdy body panel is just faboo.

The Ergo is probably my favorite, though, in terms of being able to carry the wee bairn for LONG distances with little effort.

But if you want to do the Moby, I see nothing horribly wrong with that, it just might be a pain to re-tie or re-wrap, since baby will be a *bit* bigger then than now. :)

Thanks for the replies. I really love the moby and don't mind having to retie it, have to do that now sometimes. I am mostly thinking of using it for the shows etc that I wouldn't have to take him out of it unlike the rides. I think I'll take it and see how it goes. I can see it coming in handy at night when he might want to sleep but DD is still going strong! LOL If it doesn't work out I can always leave it in the room I guess.

I've never used a wrap but if you are comfortable using it, then definitely bring it. Baby carriers are so awesome at Disney. I took our mei tai when ds was 7 mos and our Beco at 20 mos and 25 mos. They worked out great. Also, when you are standing in line it's so nice to have your hands free and your baby strapped on! If you take your carrier, your dd can ride in the stroller. At 5 years old you might be surprised at how much she wants to be in there. Disney is so tiring!

Can you back carry with a moby? I love the Beco b/c it's so awesome for the back carry. That would be my first choice!

Yes, you can back carry with Moby. I love mine. It has the SPF built into it as well. This will be our 5th trip with DD but our first with 2 kids! LOL I'm actually looking for a cheap side by side umbrella style stroller, but if I don't get that then i thought this would be a good back up plan. I'm sure she is going to want to spend a good bit of time in the stroller, she is small for her age.

FWIW when my ds was 7 mos and dd 2.5 we went to DL with a single stroller. DD rode in the stroller and I carried ds exclusively in the mei tei. Our trip in the fall we had the double (and it worked out great) but my ds still spent a ton (and I mean a TON) of time in the carrier (beco).
