My apologies as to how long winded I am..:rotfl:

I know that when you have a questions there is a place for it somewhere on the dis, with plenty of helpfull answers!!....When I told dh that I was going to get an answer to our question, he knew right off where I would be asking:lmao:

sooo on to our question: Before we put money on this (as it is due in 20 days....we have just the min down, and if we cancel we only lose 25)

We are planning on going on a cruise this Dec. (not on dcl (bummer)..as they don't have dates that work for what we need) We are sailing on the RCL Sovereign of the Seas................

Dh gets motions sickness....he can not do any spinny rides....literally turns a very deep shade of green when riding sea dragon types of rides...can not do star tours or any simulator rides more then once, even with bonine....

this past weekend we went on a whale watch off the gulf of Maine with pretty rough seas....(example...we were standing in the front holding onto the rails, and we had to keep our knees bent (like skiing) and ride the waves, sort of like swoops on a roller coaster.......this boat was cruising at 25 knots and is a catamaran She is 112 feet long and 31 feet wide....Dh took bonine and had sea bands on.......he did well for about 2 hrs then we went to go into the galley for some hot cocoa...no sooner did we walk through the door then dh was rushing back out, and hanging over the side feeding the fishing....he felt (ahem) better after this but was tired ..........................................................................................

Now here is my question::: Should we do something other then a cruise, or will dh do ok on it with the seabands and bonine.....(he can't do the patch do to the eye side effect)
I know that some say that after a day or two it is better, but our cruise is only for 4 days...I would hate for him to miss 2 of them sick in the room.

I thank you all so much for your thoughts and opinions on this!!!!

I can not do spinny rides- I can't even turn around in the car to check on the boys without getting sick. I can't do small boats. I took Bonine- starting the day before the cruise. I felt just a bit ill the first day- it made me sick to look out the port holes but otherwise I was okay. I was fine after that- until the last night when I had mistakenly stopped taking Bonine since I had felt fine. Oldest DS can ride any spinny ride and can read in the car. Bonine didn't help him at all. Our friends had a patch and gave it to him and he was fine. We never tried the sea bands.

There's a huge difference between a catamaran and a cruise ship. The ships have stabilizers that help reduce the movement. And usually the center of the ship and the lower the deck, you'll feel less movement. If you have DH start taking his Bonine a day or two before the cruise,it'll be in his system already and he shouldn't have as much trouble.

Sorry to hear that you won't be able to experience your first cruise with Disney though. Have a wonderful time! ;)
