My mother is 69, but her health isn't good and her body seems older than her age most days. She had a mild stroke many years ago, and her balance isn't great. She told my sister she wants a pair of Crocs for Christmas. She tried a pair on in the podiatrist's office last summer, and since then, she's seen a lot of people wearing them. She has a metal plate in her big toe. Her feet are chronically swollen, but she doesn't wear orthotics.
I don't own any Crocs, but I think they would be a bad idea in her case. Since they fit so loosely, wouldn't they be unstable for someone who has a balance problem? She lives in a two story house, and stairs are a constant issue as it is.
My mother's theory is that since they let her try them on it the podiatrist's, they must be okay. So am I wrong in my thinking?
