My 11 year old DD is studying Canada in Social Studies and she needs to do a travel brochure on one of the Canadian provinces. She needs to talk about what tourists would see and do there such as historical places, outdoor activities, sporting events, etc. In addition to that she needs to describe the immigrants who came to the province, how the citizens of the province have adapted their environment to suit their needs, and major economic activies and cultural facts about the province. She asked me if I would ask you all which province you think she would be able to find the most interesting information about. The tourist stuff should be easy, I think she's a little more concerned about the other things. Thanks.

Well since I live in Ontario and may be a little biased I would think that ANY province would be a good one to pick.

Ontario is definitely a melting pot of all kinds of peoples from many, many different countries.

There are a wide range of options in all of the categories that you have mentioned.

Have you tried posting this on the Canadian Board. I'm sure you would get a lot of replies over there with many willing to help out however they can.

If there is anything specific I can help with please feel free to PM me and ask. :teeth:

Canadian multiculturalism is anything but a melting pot -- think more of a mosaic.

Thank you all. I didn't even realize that there was a Canadian board. I appreciate the help.

Man! This is a hard thing to do! Sounds very involved.

I also live in Ontario and believe it is very much a mosaic of cultures, and that is one thing that makes Canada so great is that everyone seems to be from somewhere different. My DF is from Central America and I am a Native Canadian.

Toronto seems to be a good 'cultural' place to start, or also British Columbia.

If you need anything else, let me know... I like studying this kinda thing... and am a Tourism major ;)
