Question for BLT owners

Hi owner at VGF and just left the world on Thursday. We have been many many times to WDW but had never eaten at California Grill. Well we just ate there and on top of the food being AMAZING, we walked out to the observation deck and saw the views of the Magic Kingdom from the BLT rooms, wow!
now we are considering adding points there.
questions please:
are there studios (we are only 2 people so only use studios) that have that amazing MK view or is it just larger units?
are those difficult to get if you own there?

Thanks

Studios have three views: Standard (low floors), Lake View (mostly face Bay Lake) and Theme Park (high floors, face the park). You would want TPV.

Studios would be hard September through marathon, and variable at 7 balance of the year. The big category at BLT is Lake View and they are the easiest booking.

Some of Lake view studios do have an angled view of the MK when you step out onto the balcony. A number of years ago, I was fortunate enough to stay in one. The down side is that the MK angle view rooms in the Lake View category can be requested but not guaranteed.

(And as you say you are only 2 people, that is a good thing because the studios are all very tiny.)

A lot of the pics may be dead by this point, but this is a useful thread:

BLT rooms and views with picture links! Last update of post #1 10/21/2015 | The DIS Disney Discussion Forums - DISboards.com

The top two floors are the grand villas. Other than that, the rooms are evenly distributed on all floors. So, there are studios with great views. Personally, I really like the layout of the studios for 2 people. The kitchenette feels like another room. Someone could be making coffee and toast while the other is still sleeping.

Go here to post #2,875 for a room map https://www.disboards.com/threads/b...-update-of-post-1-10-21-2015.2257082/page-144. All studios at BLT are part of 2BR lock-offs. All studios at BLT are smaller than studios at other DVC resorts except for AKV "value" studios, Riviera Tower studios and CCV studios.

Lower-point-cost standard view studios are on the lower floors and those can be difficult to get even at 11-months out much of the time during fall season and about 40% the time the rest of the year. Theme Park view studios can disappear right at 11-months out during some extremely high demand times in the fall like during first two weeks of Dec.

Lake view studios are typically open well-beyond 11-months out in the fall and very often even open at 7-months out during other times of the year. My personal view is the lake view rooms, if you request and get higher floor, are actually the best rooms at BLT. High floor theme park view rooms also have decent views but theme park view has one very serious problem: a higher floor request is not guaranteed and, if you get the lower floor TP view rooms on 5th or 6th floor, be prepared to feel like you have been royally ripped-off for paying those extra points because the main view from those rooms is a large parking lot and a monorail track.

BLT's advantages include being able to walk to MK and have easy access to other MK resorts via monorail. It also has the lounge on the roof with a large outside area to view fireworks, although that can be problematic for little ones because the wall is fairly high. You also have easy access to Contemporary with its large stores, character meal restaurant and California Grill restaurant. You can also take a boat to Fort Wilderness for Hoop Dee Doo.

Actually, the 16th floor is 2 dedicated 2BRs and 2 Lake View lockoff 2BRs. They are unique because you have to keycard to 16th all day due to the presence of TOTWL.

Those are on the inner side of the circle, right? The OP was asking about views of MK. Those top floors are GV (and lounge) I think.

The second floor of the lake-view grand villas are on the 16th floor, but I believe the room numbers are all on the 15th floor. So, I guess you're both right?
Ah, okay.

But there is definitely a 2BR up there that has the access to TOTWL. Lots of people request it.

Yes, all the 2BR (dedicated and lockoff) are "inside the 'C'". I lucked into the a studio there once. Me: "I'm here early, is there any chance you've got a room ready?" CM: "Sir, I don't think you want me to move you from the 16th floor." Me: Thanks, I'll happily wait."

Yeah, it is not the parking lot/MK view, but it is one of the neater units at BLT.

Ive never staid in TP view room but was looking at the BLT view thread and agree I would be upset with some of the lower floor TP view rooms. Has there ever been any discussion floating about reclassifying rooms? I believe akv did this with partial savanah view rooms and I imagine would be win across board for owners. The point difference for standard to TP is too large to have TP rooms floating around with bad views IMO.

They already did reclassify some rooms. Originally some rooms on the 3rd and 4th floors were TP view.
