Question for BLT Home Resort Owners

I believe there will be more standard view studios at BLT for 2013 since they reclassified some of the lower floor theme park view.

I totally forgot about this! Thanks! :) Now I can stop spazzing out like I always do the month leading up to our 11 month window

Is it spring break that week?

Our next 11 month window is in like 3 weeks (for the first week of May 2012) and we're trying for a standard studio. I'll have to either drop a day off that trip or drop a day off our September 2013 trip if we have to book a lake view.

No stupid me booked on memorial day weekend. :lmao:

As a new BLT owner I have wondered about this. What is the timing required to get what you want? Do you need to book within minutes of the 11 month window opening? Or hours? Or days? How close to the optimal booking time (the very second your 11 month window opens) do you need to be in order to get what you want?

For a standard room book ASAP, aka right at 11 mos. There are a few more standard villas becoming avail in 2013 though. That being said last year we had to waitlist for a standard studio with our original dates and that was right at 11 mos first day that I could book. Our dates of our trip changed about a week later and I was able to book the whole time in a standard studio... you just never know.

If you can't get your standard room book a LV and waitlist the standard. Or if say 5 consecutive days of a week are available book those at standard and waitlist the last 2.

This makes me thrilled that I was able to get a 4 night stay in a standard view studio for my pre DCL cruise in August at 7 months. I don't own at BLT, but do enjoy staying there!:goodvibes

If BLT is your home resort have you had any issues booking a trip 11 months out?

This morning I booked at 8:00 AM right at the 11 month window for 7 nights starting April 16th, 2013. I had no problem getting the reservation I wanted.

I just logged on (at 2:36 EST) the member website to see what the availability was like for the 11 month window (4/16/13 - 4/23/13) and every room category was available for the entire date range.

That period in April has the second-highest point cost so that might keep people away. As others have been saying the dates that require the fewest DVC points tend to fill up the quickest and it is easier to get a reservation at a time when more points are required to book the same room.

Hello all! We have DVC points at Saratoga. Dd is in Disney now booked in March under the 7 month window. She wanted to stay at BLT so she was able to get 2nights on pts & 1 cash night they gave a discount to her. She was happy with her BlT poolview room. The rest of the stay is at our home resort.

I was lucky for our Nov tripe did get 2 nights at BLT preferred view room. Then we got BWV for the rest of our stay! If we couldn't have gotten these we would have been happy at Saratoga next stay we will be at home!

How far out before your trips do you make reservations? I am surprised to hear that you have had difficulty for three years now.

The first time we tried to book, we were at just over 7 months. A few times we were at the 11 month window.

I think the problem we run into is that we are booking a value studio for 2 weeks. (When we vacation, we REALLY vacation.), so it's hard to get a straight 2 weeks without SOME day being unavailable.

That's not been a big issue for us, my husband has the goal of putting his head on every pillow in WDW, so we've been happy to stay at other DVC resorts.

We did luck into a reservation at just over 6 months. I didn't even think to check at BLT, but was going to reserve at AKL. When I found out that Kidani didn't have Value Studios, and Jambo didn't have one of the 3 days I needed. So I just took a shot in the dark to see if BLT had anything. It was Disney magic that they had 2 nights available and I took them! (Without hesistation and without checking with my husband ;) )

All you need to do is book the first seven nights, then call back each day or every other day and add one or two more days. Or call back in six days and add six more days, then call one more day and add the seventh (or 14th night in actuality).

We book the MK 2Br dedicated and haven't had any issues with getting it. Its when I just need a studio that it gets dicey!
