Question For 30 Year Olds(or around 30)

Thats ok, I do wear the stretchys in the house or when Im out walking with a long sweatshirt. But at least a couple years ago I finally gave up on the slouchy socks over the pants and I refuse to wear them like that anymore, even if that look really worked for me. ;)

Ill have to check out how low some of those jeans really are. I did pretty good during my pregnancies and only got stretch marks down low. Maybe these jeans will cover them.

I wear whatever isn't stained, isn't torn, fits, and doesn't need to be ironed (well, there are some of my dressier work clothes I iron).

Go to Lady's Footlocker or Bob's. They have great nylon wind suits and sweat pants. Not the frumpy looking kind.......

I'm only 26, but I've always dressed conservatively. I can't stand shopping for clothes. I have to wear petites, and the clothes in that department are even worse than the ones in the regular misses department.

I generally buy plain jeans and khakis. I get them at Eddie Bauer and Talbots. Shirts are a little easier to buy, so I can buy them at more places.

I wear stuff that never goes out of style- jeans, t-shirts, sweatshirts, sweaters, cotton stretch pants, etc.

Once in awhile I'll wear a long skirt. I like some of the trendy stuff too, like the ruffle shirts and the peasant skirts, too. I like that the "hippie look" is back, except I wont wear bell bottoms or flares. I also wont wear the bare-midriff stuff or the hip-hugging pants. I am built like an average woman, not built like Britney Spears! LOL

I like the legging/long sweater look too. I don't wear it as often as I used to but I still wear them because they are so comfortable.

ARGH!!!!! Heres an update of sorts...I went to the mall today, looked in every store that sells jeans, and NOTHING! They are all disgusting looking. I swear I will never buy another pair of jeans in my life. Im going back to the early 90s with my stretchy jeans, with the black lace sewn into the sides! ROFL! ;)

I dress pretty conservatively, and since I am a SAHM, it's jeans/khaki's and sweaters in the winter, and shorts/capris/sleeveless shirts in the summer.

What I can't STAND seeing when I am out and about is girls that are extremely overweight wearing low-cut jeans and midriff shirts. But, I guess if they are comfortable........

I am 34:rolleyes:

I get most of my clothes at the major department stores..and GAP!

Liz Claiborne, Lauren, and even somedays Tommy..have cute stylish things that don't make you feel like a teeny bopper..OR a OLD SCHOOL TEACHER~.

I'm very conservative. So conservative that most people that meet me say, "You don't look like a hairdresser." :p
I used to work at a big, trendy salon where I had to wear some very trendy get-ups. Not me at all but, they seemed to be what our clientele liked. That was very uncomfortable for me. I don't go along with the crowd very well.

Now that I work fpor myself I wear anything I want. it's great. Most of my clothes come from LLBean. I got an Eddie Bauer catalog the other day and I saw some things I really liked. The fashions for women and girls are just awful right now.

Okay - I admit it. I miss the 90s too. I have had the best luck buying jeans at JC Penney or Wal-Mart. They have normal, not low rise, straight/tailored leg not flare jeans. I also like the khakis they have at Target. Maybe not ultra-fashionable, but I don't feel like an idiot in them. Won't leggings be coming back in style soon? Can't I just wear them and tell people I'm not behind the times but ahead of them? If bell bottom pants can come back, anything can, right???

Classic stuff...jeans, taylored shirts, t-shirts, and sweaters. I can't stand the flood pants that have been out! When I see them on someone, I want to go over and yank them down to their ankles. Same with the low-waist pants. I want to yank them up to their waist. LOL! The floods look ridiculous on everyone.

I have a really hard time finding pants to fit (always big in waist, tight in hips)...just found great Dockers stretch twill pants...fit perfectly and they aren't frumpy or teeny-boppish. For work I often wear suits but NOT the boring, conservative, below the knees one. I like Kohl's, Ann Taylor and some boutique stores here in NYC.
I like Calvin K. jeans and good old Levi's! Love long straight skirts too.

I was going to start a new thread about this very same subject, when I saw this one already going so I'll chime in. :D Although I'm 45 I was getting very, very tired of wearing "the same old stuff" all the time, so my daughter (she's 24) went shopping with me yesterday and I bought new, "cool" stuff!! Most of the stuff I bought was at Fashion Bug (I just LOVE that store!!)...4 pair of jeans and 5 tops (the new "look" with big bell/split sleeves). The jeans are all "different" and I really, really like them....even though I'm 45! Age is "just a number!" Now, I wouldn't think of wearing low-cut pants and a shirt that shows my stomach...I do feel I'm too old for THAT, but I don't think I'm too old to still look "good." :) I also bought a nice pair of boots, and some necklaces (I rarely wear jewelry so this is a definite change for me). It feels good to "update" my wardrobe just a little!! Oh, I still like plain old jeans and a t-shirt or sweatshirt or sweater too, though.

I am in mid 30's and I say " please burn all leggins" I loved that look too. Especially when we lived in the Reno (where it snows:eek: ) but eventually you have to give them up. Get rid of the socks and buy a pair of ankle boots. They look great with all pants/jeans. There are tons of ways to be cute/hip without wearing the junior styles.
My biggest find is BOYS original 501's. I am not a stick and these jeans are helpful in making you look better. and they never ever go out of style. then just add boots in winter (or here in Phx...add sandals;) ) and one of the new peasant style tops. I update the sweaters/tops/whatever each year and live in the jeans.

I live in capris....they have to be the most flattering of all pants for me. I have at least 15 pairs.

I agree on Old Navy...you can get cute styles but not too crazy and they have a huge size range. small and bigger. ;)

I am not a style maven but definately like to look somewhat with the times. So these were my 2 cents of suggestions......;) ;)

I forgot to say on the 501's that you can buy any length and cut them off to the hem line you choose. the frayed look is very cool. I have cut off a couple pair to be capri length for life here in Phoenix. It just never really gets that cold here. ;)

I am only 25, but I do not like the look of most of the clothes out there for the teens at all. They just don't fit my body type very well at all and I am not much for showing skin. I shop at the misses department at my malls and fortunately most of what I like (Liz Claiborne is a biggie) are just classic looks. Classic fit jeans, tons of knit tops, nothing too "old" yet not too "young" It seems to fit me quite nicely. I might be lucky because where I live, even the "old ladies" like to try to look young in their style so we get a great variety of things to choose from :)

Sweat pants, Docker style pants from Lands End, Running Pants, And love my leggings. I tend to wear T shirts/sweatshirts unless I'm in my Scrubs from work.
