question -- floral arrangements for party

so I'm walking through the lobby of my office building yesterday and I notice that they've redone the planters, again. now they've got an arrangement of spring flowers, including tulips and daffodils & etc. but what's really interesting is that they've got cherry blossoms in the mix.

my dd's favorite color is pink, and my sister thinks cherry blossoms would be wonderful at dd's bat mitzvah in November.

so the question -- for anyone who might know -- would I be able to find cherry blossoms in November? and how would the cost of cherry blossoms compare to other flowers that would be more typicla at a catered party?

I don't know whether you will be able to find cherry blossoms, but I somehow doubt it. Strangely the florist told us for our daughter's wedding in October that tulips would be easy to come by. We chose an autumn theme and the flowers were just beautiful, tiger lilies, mums, bittersweet - I can't remember it all but it was a knockout. If you can't find cherry blossoms, there is a possibility you can find something similar (i.e. pink and small blossoms on a stem). You might also look into freeze-dried flowers. We saw them at a wedding and they were surprisingly lovely. My daugher was a bridesmaid at that wedding and kept her bouquet. It lasted several years. I'd start talking to your florist now.
