Hello :)

I hate to admit that my beautiful wedding photos are not in an album. The photographer wanted me to come back after we received them all and pick one out based on the order I wanted them in. He is no longer in business (retired), so I can't go back to him.

Well, that was ten years ago  and they are sitting in a box still. So anyways, I would like to put them into a scrapbook album, but I can't decide what kind of album. Should I go with white pages or maybe black pages? How do you decide what the background should be? I was thinking black pages with silver or gold writing ... yes/no?? Ideas? Our colours were navy and yellow ... does that play into it? If my pages are black, what colour should the album be ... black? white?

Any ideas would be appreciated :)

Thanks so much ...

I think a black album/pages would look very classy for wedding photos, it would have a timeless quality!

mine has black pages with pale yellow and cream. My album however was completed when I bought it at Target I just had to add the pictures.
I would do black or a really dark blue since blue was one of your colors. Bazzill has some pretty dark blues out there.

I didn't buy an album from my photographer either. I was already a scrapbooker at the time and I knew I could make a much more personal album for a LOT less money. They charge you an arm and a leg for those books!

I am a patterned paper person so I found a pattern that I liked (silver diamonds - kind of a harlequin pattern) and used the same paper throughout. I matted all the photos on black cardstock and printed all my words on vellum laid over a white floral pattern. I happened to find an album I loved at Walmart - a white floral cover. I ended up doing two albums so as not to overload one - one for the ceremony and one for the reception. I didn't journal in it, but I did include the bible readings from the ceremony and the song lyrics from the special dances. I figure I chose them for a reason, so I definitely wanted them preserved too! I did label significant photos like my readers and greeters, and the table shots at the wedding - it's so true what they say - even just 5 years later there are people that I wouldn't remember their names otherwise!

Do whatever feels right to you - I know at first I questioned whether I was straying too far from a traditional album but then I decided it was what made me happy, not anyone else.

This thread reminds me - I have to get back to work on my parents' wedding album. Their professional one was just a bunch of 8x10s. All their proofs were in magnetic albums! :scared1: I want to do something really simple but get them into nice albums.

I have been gathering supplies to scrapbook some wedding pics and plan on using red, black, and white.

Another idea is to use paper that coordinate with your wedding colors.

Have fun!

This sounds like a good idea, Suzanne! My SIL asked me the other day if I wouldn't like to "just take her box of all of her wedding/reception/shower, etc., pics and make her a scrapbook. . .it would make a good Christmas gift". She had about 7 showers, plus she has all of the stuff from everything! I've got to get to that if it's going to be THIS Christmas that she gets it!! This may be the way to go!
