When I booked my ADR's for my Oct and Dec stay the CM asked me both times if I was on the dining plan....my question is why did she ask? Do the people on the dining plan get "marked" or something? Anyone have an idea?

You know, I was asked the same thing and I asked why did she want to know? Do they try harder to get dining plan guests a table? Do DDP guests take priority? I thought it was a strange question. The CM assured me that they just need to keep track of this info and pass the info on to the restaurant. It made no sense to me. I'm not on the dining plan this time and it made me paranoid!!!

Also if you are on the dining plan they advise you how many credits the dinner is. They wouldn't do this if you said you were paying oop.

DDP guests tend to order more appetizers and desserts than guests paying cash. It helps restaurants plan.

I was wondering the same thing.

Then I thought that since people on the DDP are more likely to order 3 courses, maybe it has to do with how much time they block a table for (or how much food to order)?

We never do DDP and it makes me kinda worried when they ask this question, too.

When I booked CRT while on DDP, I did not have to pay in advance-- just took my CC as a guarantee.

Another time I booked CRT, I was not on DDP and had to pay the full amt in advance.

So, that seems like another reason why they ask.

There aren't any special privileges or even a mark put on you but they do need the info for marketing reasons, to pass info onto the restaurant (since 3 courses will likely be ordered), and to make sure you understand how many credits it's worth and such.

We made almost all our reservations prior to even booking the DDP so they never had a chance to note that we are on the plan...

When I booked CRT they told me since I was on the dining plan I didn't have to pay up front. I called back to change the reservation from 4 people to 5 and she didn't ask if I was on the dining plan so I assumed she knew from the previous reservation, but I was wrong. I got my credit card statement and it had been charged the full amount. I had to call to have it refunded, which took a few weeks. So I would suggest making sure you tell them even if they don't ask.
