Hello everyone! Deciding if DME is an option for me or if I should just rent a town car. I understand that a DME bus goes to 3 or 4 resorts in one pickup. We are staying at GF in Nov. I'm assuming GF, Poly, and CR are one bus. Does anyone know the order of the stops? I have a 9 month old who hasn't learned how to be patient yet, and I may not do DME if GF is the last stop. or maybe with a wailing baby, they'll be begging to let me off first :rotfl: !
Thanks a bunch for any replies!!

There's no set grouping of resorts and no set order of drop offs. What happens at 10:00 a.m. might not be the same that happens at 1:00 p.m. on the same day. It's all just a matter of luck whether or not you'll be a first drop off. I have read, however, that for any given grouping of resorts, the resort closest to MCO gets dropped off first, the farthest resort last, etc.

One of the DME drivers posted a Disney rule that GF guests be dropped of first, maybe POLY was an exception, even if they had to drive past the other resorts and then go back.

He said some (most?) of the drivers were ignoring that rule. They feel it would upset guests to realize they were inconvenienced just to accommodate GF guests.

As a rule, GF is the first drop off unless you also have Poly on the bus in which case poly is first and GF is second. Now as stated before all drivers may not be following that rule.

We have a lot of people who bring their young children on the busses it all just depends on how you handle possibly being in a bus for an hour with your child.

We are staying at the GF in Sept and will also be traveling with a young child and will be landing at 9 PM. I'm still debating about using DME or taking a town car. Would it still be an hour trip with the town car to the GF or is that just with the DME that it takes approx 1 hour to the GF?

I just made the quote about the child on the bus and used the time of one hour. If you drive from the airport straight to GF you can make it in about 30 minutes and the town car will drop you off at the same spot where the DME bus will. If GF is the first or second stop, from the time the bus leaves the airport can be 30-45 minutes.

We used the ME in July and it was CR, Poly, WL, and GF on the bus and GF was the last stop. The driver started to drive off with the luggage doors under the bus wide open. People starting yelling at the driver to stop.

I know that this makes us drivers sound stupid but it is really easy to forget to close those doors. You have so much going on when you are driving the bus. I can't tell you the number of times that I have sat down in the driver's seat and looked in my mirror and saw that the luggage door was open, although I have never driven away with the doors open.

As far as your route in July, the "official" word from Disney is that the GF is a first stop resort unless the Poly is involved, then GF is second. A lot of drivers don't like to do that because you hit Poly and then go to GF and then come back by Poly to get to the CR and WL. It makes us look kind of stupid to people on the bus when we pass a resort twice. But hey, what can you do? It really depends on the driver and what they think about the rule.
I always try to get the Poly and GF first and on the way I tell the people on the bus that we will pass back by the Poly to reach CR and WL. It hasn't seemed to be a problem yet.

Thanks for the "official word" from Disney. Mears Driver..but in our case the GF was the LAST stop for that route. I don't remember the exact order but we went to WL, CR, Poly, and the GF last. I guess the driver didn't know the "official" policy. I don't think that just because you are a GF guest you should get dropped off first. The route the driver followed seemed logical.

What that driver did is logical, it is the flow that makes sense and is most efficient and provides the best service, and is a difference, at most of 10 min to GF guests.

After all, the service is free.

But Disney isn't always logical. I won't say any more about this company who claims to be so politically correct but is budget prejudice.

I can't see Walt approving of that. Eisner, Yes, Walt, No.

If I understand correctly... there is one bus that takes care of GF, Poly, CR and WL?? ... or they are the first stops??? then drop off people at other resorts? Also, we're arriving around 2:30 pm. Is that a busy time as far as number of people arriving, checking in at ME desk and boarding bus? One other question? Are the buses on a schedule? For example... bus arrives every half hour at mco for pickup?
