This has certainly already been asked, I'm sure!! but I just couldn't find the answer, so please help!! :worship:
How does this works? They give you the meal, and then you head to a certain area? are there tables around? I really have no clue!!!

I was going for Ariel's.. but I finally decided (as of this day, :rotfl:) that we'll do Goofy's and for WoC just the picnic meals..

I was just there a couple weeks ago and we did the picnic meals. We had preordered them online so we got WoC FP for the 9:00 show. If you buy the picnics there you get a WoC FP for the 10:15 show.

Anyway, you go to the picnic pickup place which is right next to the Wine Country Tratorria (there is a sign obviously telling you where to go). Then you either show them your printed receipt or you buy it right there. They'll get you your food, ask what kind of drink you want (I think coke, diet coke, sprite, and water; all bottled), and put it all in a big WoC bag along with your WoC FP. You are free to leave the area but there are plenty of tables if you want to eat your picnic right then and there. Then when it gets around show time, all you need is the WoC FP to be admitted into the viewing area! :thumbsup2

Here is a link to my DIS blog on the picnic option. We went on the first day back in June, so I don't know if anything has changed, but there are pictures and a description of our experience. We really enjoyed it and thought it was a nice lower-cost alternative to AG or WCT.

thanks! I knew it was easy, but I just wanted to be sure about it! :)

Agree, great and very informative!! thanks

They give you the meal when you purchase it. We purchased it at about 3 pm and got it right then. We were heading back to our hotel so we took them back, refrigerated them and ate them for dinner. Then you get your fastpass for later to line up then.

Our family did the picnic meals. We randomly picked up our meals at 5:00 PM, sat down and ate, and ended up having great seats for the Pixar parade at 5:15! Just sit at one of the tables near the parade route.

You should get a FP for the yellow section - if you purchase online ahead of time, it's the 9:00 show, 10:15 if you just walk up. Make sure to return at least a few minutes before the earliest return time on your fastpass. Look for a guy waving a yellow flag. He will be standing at the end of the line. When you get in line, he will check to make sure you have a yellow section FP for the right show, and then move behind you. Our line was let in just after 7:30 and we were allowed to pick our spots and sit down (the dining viewing area is much less crowded than the other sections). I assume that they form another line after the first group is in the park. Our opinion was that is was better to be further back than close, as long as you can get to the stop of a flight of stairs or at a railing (especially of you have small kids). Being farther back allows you to take in more of the show (and you won't get as wet).

Thanks for the info!! Wow, it's really hard to plan for WoC!

Is there any way to ask for later FPs? We are doing the picnic lunch but we wanted to see the 11pm showing. Any chance they would let us do that?

Also, you had to line up before 7:30 for a 9pm showing :scared1: ?? I thought the point of the FP was so you didn't have to wait as long.

WOC FP are different - they allow you access to the viewing area - no FP, no entry. So, since everyone has a FP, they do not save you any time. If you want a better view (standing room only - no seats), you have to show up early. Otherwise, you get what space is left. Will there be room for you to stand if you are late? Yes. Will you have heads in your view? Probably. Will you get a railing with unobstructed view? No

I think if you are willing to take the left overs, you can show up as late as 8:15 or so. The pre show starts at 8:30, and at least one person said they restricted entry after the preshow started, so I wouldn't push it any later.

The only advantage the buying the picnics gets you is not needing to stand in line for FP and no risk of getting the red section. Otherwise you get the exact same FP for the exact same sections.

Doing the meal at Ariel's or WCT does get you a different section - preferred dining which is along the center line. But it is still standing room only and you still need to be early to get the best spots. From what I have heard, this section is less crowded.

Picnic option and WOC W/C tratt and AG dinner meals are all 3 different ways to get a nice ticket in a nice area to View WOC. Picnic you can buy online or walk up and can eat anywhere in the park you choose before the show, W/C and AG are sit down meals at tables inside the each attended restaurants, the menu’s are pre established….

Thank you so much for asking this question. I've been wondering the same thing! :)
