Question about wheelchair lines, DAS, and Fast Pass at DL

We have a large family and are going to DL next month.

A long time ago when we weren't really planning on going I thought I had a pretty good handle on the DAS for my autistic son - there are 7 of us 2 adults, 5 children and I am under the impression that although the DAS is technically for 6 they can make exceptions so I thought I was all good.

Since getting that all figured out I have become disabled. So now not only will we have DS's DAS but I need to use a scooter.

I don't quite know how to manage both systems together and how to split our family between the two.

Like if we don't use DAS at all can I bring 7 through the wheelchair line? Many of the rides in DL aren't mainstreamed so this is a real consideration for us. If all 7 of us show up to get the return time so they can see that there are five small kids is that good enough or do I need to got to city hall to get something to give them to let them know that we really can't split?

Then for example in CA the lines are mainstreamed so I could see us maybe having to use DAS more for kiddo. How do I go? If DS has a DAS return time and I show up in the scooter is that going to mess up his return times? Would we both get a return time? Then how do we make sure we get the same time?

OH one more - what about fast pass? If we use fast pass can I use that and a scooter or do I not bother with it since it's a different line for me? I guess that only applies to rides without mainstream lines though right? If it has a mainstream line then I can use a fast pass right?

Sorry for the twenty questions but I just realized that I actually have NO CLUE how we are going to co-ordinate this - lol

I know the California parks recently started a new process that puts the DAS return times on the actual ticket media, and I believe that wheelchair return times are done this way also. There are guests who use a wheelchair or ECV and also qualify for DAS, so the 2 can be used together -- you just will not be able to have active return times for two different rides.

First, you will need to request the DAS at Guest Relations. To have an exception made for the size of your party, make sure everyone is present at Guest Relations. I'm not entirely sure how it works now that it's all electronic (no physical DAS card to carry), but I'm sure they have a way to indicate how many are in your party.

When you approach the kiosks for a DAS return time, you'll need to have tickets for everyone in-hand and the DAS return time will be entered electronically for each of you.

DAS return times are equal to the standby minus 10 minutes. I believe the wheelchair return times are as well. The difference being that the DAS is an open-ended time (return anytime after x:xx) while the wheelchair return time is a specific window like FP. If you have a FP for a ride needing a wheelchair return time, your wheelchair return time should be issued for immediate entrance rather than standby minus 10 minutes.

Enjoy your vacation!
