Question about waiting in line/Aspeger's

We just got back from WDW this past saturday. We were there for a week with our 6 year old son and 3 year old daughter, who has ASD. Being June, the parks were full and the lines were very long. We were able to use the GAC on all the age-appropriate rides for our daughter and were never taken to an alternate waiting room area. The GAC helped us a lot. With the heat, the lines, and the limited time we can spend in the parks with our daughter we could not afford to use the GAC sparingly. She was able to enjoy about 6 rides (Small World, Peter Pan, Pooh, Buzz Lightyear, Spaceship Earth, and Nemo) and we took her to the Carousel of Progress (which put her to sleep!, lol). As back-ups, we took her on the Disneworld Train around the park and the People Mover around Futureworld several times - she has a thing for constant motion. When she just needed to stretch and run, we took her to the play area at Pooh's Corner, where she was able to slide and get wet in the splash area. And, of course, we took advantage of the Baby Centers in every park. As a place to cool down and give the family some much-needed relief from walking and the heat, the baby centers are highly recommended. There are toddler/young child areas in each center where they can sit at little tables and eat a snack or watch some disney cartoons on a tv. And inside bathrooms! Hope this helps!

I always get a GAC when we go, and we go when the parks are fairly empty. I look at the GAC as an insurance card. I have to use it for its a small world, a bug's life and the Nemo show at AK. The rest of the time it pretty much stays in my pocket. It makes sense to get one when you enter MK, their CM in town hall seem to be the best. You may never need it but if you do it makes a world of difference.

TOTALLY agree. I have a 6 1/2 year old DS with Aspergers and ADHD. We have been taking him to WDW since birth. We only started getting the GAC three trips ago, when we faced the fact that we TRULY needed it :worried: . Don't get me wrong...if the wait is 10 minutes, the GAC stays right in my pocket. He CAN wait for 10 minutes...yes, he fidgets and doesn't stay in his "space".

I would give ANYTHING not to actually NEED the GAC at certain times...but the fact of the matter is, we do and it's really great to know it's available.
