Question about using conference tickets?

DH has a conference in Orlando and we are planning to join him at the end for a week's vacation. He is able to buy us discounted tickets through the conference. However some of the language around the tickets is confusing.

At one point it says that the tickets are good within 7 days of the conference. But then later it says "good for 14 days from first use."

So here is my question: We want to buy 8 day tickets (which are available on the site.) But we are planning to use them starting the first day after DH is done with his conference (he will take PTO for that part.) Does the 7 days of the conference just mean we need to START our ticket by then and we have 14 days to use our days up? Because otherwise why would they sell us an 8 day ticket we only have 7 days to use. Its really just our last day I'm worried about because the first 7 days will be within 7 days of the conference - we plan to use the ticket days consecutively. Sorry if this is confusing.

Has anyone done this or have any insight?

I think this is correct but haven't bought conference tickets before so hopefully, someone else can help.

Also, check those discounted prices versus Undercover Tourist and Boardwalk Ticketing. I actually found the conference tickets cost a little more when we went last January.

I don’t think that’s correct. As I recall from the tickets I used last year, conference tickets are good 7 days before the conference starts and 7 days after the conference ends. you don’t get 14 days to use them if you wait until after the conference ends to use them.

Yes, this is my worry. I guess I will have to call. Its a good deal, but not enough of a good deal if I have to buy a single day ticket at full price.

I don't think calling will do any good. You don't really get knowledgeable CM's. The only knowledgeable person may be the contact person at WDW for that conference.

One other thing I forgot to mention earlier, since WDW went to date-based tickets, there hasn't been a 14-days to use option (unless you get a ticket that is 10-days) for U.S. tickets.

Here is the general conference tickets terms & conditions:

Interesting. From your link:

"First use (or use of a 1-day ticket) must be on the specific dates of the applicable meeting, convention or other event or within the seven (7) days before and/or after the applicable meeting, convention or other event."

So by my reading of that definition I am good! And I don't actually need the 14 days, that's just what my site says. I will be using the 8 day ticket consecutively.

yes, but if you look further, it also talks about events from 2019…

in Any event, it doesn’t say when last use must be, which is your question. The problem you have is the last day to use, not the first day.

so if it expires 7 days after the conference ends, you still have that issue about the 8 day ticket being valid….

I think Disney's intent is to offer discounts AROUND the time of your conference. They clearly don't want people buying a bunch of tickets to use 2 years in the future for a vacation unrelated to the conference. I would also imagine that the conference organizers strike certain deals with Disney about reduced hotel rates and/or tickets partly based on how large of a conference it is. I agree that calling Disney to get clarification is probably not the best choice since you tend to get people on the phone who just seem to make up answers since they know you will never talk with them again. Some on the phone are very good, while others just seem lazy and/or didn't have sufficient training for the job they are doing. When we were planning a prior Disney vacation, it was obvious who on the phone knew what they were talking about and who just made up answers when they couldn't be bothered researching something we needed to ask.

Asking when you are actually at Disney at someplace like Guest Relations would be a better option. Sometimes with larger conferences there may also be a dedicated phone # for conference related questions. I would expect those people are more able to answer such questions compared to the generic Disney info lines.

I think so long as you enter a park within that 7-day window of pre and post conference, you will be fine.

I received a hard ticket when I got my conference tickets last year. I will see if anything is printed on the ticket itself (if I kept it).
