Question about use year & banking points

We are looking at a resale with a December use year. All points from the 2003 allocation are still available as are the upcoming 2004 points. Couple of questions:

With a December use year, would we have until the beginning or the end of June to bank points? If it's the beginning, there's a chance the sale would not be final or us being in the system until after June 1.

Seems like it might be easier to have the sellers bank their points as a requirement of the offer. Has anyone ever done this and, if so, any problems, tips, suggestions?

Thanks - Ruth n Paul

The deadline for banking 100% of a December Use Year's points is May 31 -- not June 1. I think the seller could do this for you as part of the terms of the sale.

Thanks, Pam! Since writing this, we talked to Pat at The Timeshare Store about the listing and found out that it is very common to have sellers bank their points as part of a sale and these terms will be included in the contract.

Based on that information, we purchased an OKW resale that we think is terrific deal (December use year, 310 from 2003 that will be banked plus all 310 from 2004 for $70 per point)!

Second resale we've purchased in the last 2 months -- although this will be the last...for now anyway!

Congratulations!! That sounds like it was easy enough.

Hmmm, maybe TOO easy! The seller lives in Chile so hopefully that won't add too many extra days to the process...
