I really want to do the internship program, i had my phone interview and i think i did really well. But now ive gotton mixed up in a few things, and i want to finish school then do the internship. Would it be bad to turn it down if im accepted? Will it ruin my chances of getting accepted when i reapply for the fall?

I want to finish school, cause im moving to florida afterwards regardless. It would be easier to finish school then work for disney for 4 or 5 months, and while working for them look for a job down there was well. Otherwise ill go to florida for 5 months, come back and have 2 semesters to do before i can go back down to florida! Gah.

If your accepted turning down your invitation doesn't negatively affect your chances of getting in again. Disney knows that things come up and you may not necessarily be able to accept. That is the whole point of offering an invitation and then the CP candidate having to accept. Its your choice in the end. As long as you make sure to respond to them to turn down the offer you should be fine. I wouldn't recommend just letting the offer expire. Its not good etiquette and might not reflect well on you.

If you get offered a position and need to turn it down just call up the casting number for the college program and let them know. I can say from experience that it doesn't hurt your chances in the future.

I got accepted for a merchandise CP one semester, had to turn it down for that semester because it wasn't working with my schedule. Then I applied for the CP and a Professional Internship after I graduated (for the same term). I got accepted as a CP for Attractions and got the Professional Internship offer at the same time. So I turned down the CP offer and took the Professional Internship. :)

You need to do what you need to do -- things happen. It won't negatively affect you, but keep in mind that they get more and more applicants each semester. With that being said, when you apply again, be sure to check off as many roles as you would be willing to do and really sell yourself in the interview.

Just wanted to say thanks for the feedback. I was accepted and now I cant find it in me to turn it down so Disney here I come :]

Haha I feel like that's gonna happen with me as well. I'm going to apply for Fall 2011 anyway even though I 75% can't do it (or am leaning against it as of late) but I'll probably just not be able to bring myself to turn it down once I've gotten in...

Well if you do end up getting it congrats and let us know! I didnt think I got it because my interview was only 15 minutes long, but what do you know they gave me my top roll and everything. Good luck!

I think Disney can understand you as long as you well explain. After all, things happen and we cannot change unforeseeable Physical Conditions

I saw take a semester off and do the internship now! Then when you move back down for good you'll feel more comfortable and already have friends down there and everything. :)
