Question about TTC

I know that there is a monorail that runs from TTC to Epcot at the TTC, but I also see buses parked there too.

Where do the buses go? To parks, resorts, DTD, or all of the above?

If we stay at a resort on the monorail, perhaps it would be easy to use buses at TTC? Any advantage to doing this? (I'm talking about getting to DS or AK or DTD.) Like, if we stayed at the Poly and wanted to get to Boardwalk resort, is there a bus that would take us there from TTC?

Thanks!

Kerri

There are no busses to the resorts or downtown disney from the TTC. I think there are park busses to DHS and AK. Also offsite busses.

You won't find any buses to DTD at any of the park areas. At the TTC, you will see buses to DHS and to AK. You will also see Orlando's public transit buses....Lynx buses. Also, the TTC is where most of the offsite resorts/hotels drop their guests. Then, those people will take Disney transportation to parks via the above mentioned buses.
If you want to get to a particular resort, from the TTC, that's easy. Just take either the ferry or the monorail over to MK. Then, hop on the resort bus you want there. There are no resort buses at the TTC.

When we stayed at the Poly last Oct., we took the monorail from the TTC to EPCOT and walked to the Boardwalk. I just saw a post on the resort board that someone took a bus from the Poly to DTD and then to the Boardwalk. They ended up being late for thier ADRs.

So it may be faster to go to EPCOT and walk to the Boardwalk.

Since you need park admission to Epcot to get to the International Gateway, this will only work if you have park hoppers, an AP, plan on only going to Epcot that day, or waste a park day and not go to another park.

The better route would be to take the bus from the TTC to DHS. Then you can walk to the Boardwalk or take the ferry. The ferry will take about 20 min to get from DHS to the Boardwalk. Walking at a brisk pace you can probably get there in 15 min. You would not need to use a park hopper entry for this route.

I find it amazing that all of you that have posted a response to this question know so much about the WDW transportation system. You're pretty much dead on. Why is that?

While DTD will work as a transfer point for resort-to-resort trips, there's almost always a better option using a park to transfer. The only times that DTD should be your choice is if all the parks are closed or if the only park available to use as a transfer would require going way out of your way.

The best route to get to the Boardwalk from a monorail resort would be to take a monorail to the MK and grab a bus to the Boardwalk.

Most of us have been to WDW more times than we can remember...so are very conversant with the transportations options there. I can get anywhere at WDW, from anyplace else, with no problem. The only thing I'm not 100% sure of are the boats and the timing of them. But others are.
