Question About Tripit

Does anyone use Tripit? I used it for our trip earlier this year, but now I'm trying to set up our trip for next year and it won't import any of the data from my e-mail inbox. I've also forwarded my itineraries to plans@tripit.com (I think that was it) and they still don't show up. I can't for the life of me figure out what's going on. Any suggestions?
 
I have found that if it is not in the correct format it will not come thru properly but it will tell you such and place it in a tab. Also, it will send you an email notifying you of such. :)
 
You should get an email that it was successful or unsuccessful in adding to your itinerary.

Items that do not go through correctly will show up in a tab called unfiled items.

The Tripit support group is a great resource who get back to you very quickly.

I know it doesn't work when I try to use one of my other email addresses to send to tripit. It only works if I use my gmail one.

And the email can't be forwarded to the gmail address and then sent to tripit because tripit can't read it and I end up with an email saying they couldn't accept it.

So then I put it in manually which works but I know I'd much rather just be able to send it to tripit and be done.
 
You can have multiple email address signed up for one account so no matter which one you send it from it goes to it. I have one account, but I send trip info for business trips from my business accounts and personal trips from my personal account to the same Tripit account that is registered through my personal email.

This could be my problem. I have the confirmations sent to my work e-mail and then I forwarded them to my gmail, but I know that's what I did this year and it worked. I guess I could try to add my work e-mail. The only problem with that is that I get travel confirmations for other people that I do for work.

How do you do it manually?

On my phone which is a droid, if you open the my trips part of tripit, I hit menu and then it pulls up some choices. One of the choices is add trip.
I select that and then can key the information in myself.

I need to figure out how to add my other email address to tripit like another poster mentioned so I won't have to do it manually.
 
I still think it's all very complicated, but it did eventually show up with the e-mails I forwarded from my work account to my gmail account. It showed up on my tablet about 18 hours before it finally showed up on my phone.
